anxious to share your knowledge and expertise with a very
targeted audience that consists of tens of thousands of people

If you answered
yes to these questions, you should consider becoming an A2D
Contributor!
As an A2D Contributor you will be listed on our
A2D Contributors page. That page
will link to your very own
profile page, which will include a photo of you, as well as your
biographical information. On that page, you may share anything and
everything about yourself that you wish to share. You may also
link to your own personal website, blog, or business website.
Basically, you can self-promote all you want! Then each article
that you submit will include a small photo of you and a byline, both
linked directly to your A2D profile page.
Click here to see an example of a contributor article which includes a
photo and byline.
As a contributor, you will also be given access to the
A2D blog, where you may blog on anything related to interior design,
interior decorating, home decor, etc.
Here are the details:
1. We ask that you commit to writing a
minimum of five articles (or DIY instruction guides) within three
months. After your initial obligation is met, you may
submit additional articles at your leisure if you choose, or you may
choose to submit no more articles.
2. Articles should relate to one of the
topics on the left navigation bar on the A2D website. If
your article is about a topic not seen there (but still related to
interior design, interior decorating, etc.), please contact us to get
prior approval before writing and submitting the article.
3. All submissions must be completely unique--absolutely
no duplicate articles please!! If an article has been submitted to
another website for publication, you must re-write the article
substantially before submitting it to A2D so that search engines
will not view it as duplicate information. Duplicate articles will
be rejected.
4. The article will remain your property, and you
will retain the copyright. However, by submitting your article to
A2D, you are giving A2D the exclusive rights to the article for a
period of one year (12 months). At the end of one year,
the article will remain on the A2D website, but you are free to submit
the article to other websites if you choose to do so.
5. By submitting your article to A2D, you
give the owners of A2D (and any official representative of A2D) the
right to use your article (or selected portions/excerpts from
the article) and related photos on any section of the A2D website
and the A2D blog, as well as on any other website in an effort
to promote the A2D website, i.e., www.curbly.com, www.flickr.com, etc.
(please note: this is not an exclusive list)
6. Articles must provide quality
information. They may not be used as a means to promote
your own business, services or products. Press releases may not be
submitted as articles. These types of promotional articles will be
rejected.
7. Articles should include at least one
photo to illustrate the subject of the article. Photos
should be your property. If the photo is not your property, please
ensure that you have permission from the owner to use the photo on the A2D website.
This is your responsibility! We will not do this for you. By
submitting photos, you agree that you are taking full legal
responsibility for those photos.
8. Articles should be between 250 and 800
words in length. These are only guidelines--they are not
hard and fast rules. We simply ask that you provide a well thought
out article that is full of helpful information.
9. Articles should be written in third
person. First person may be used minimally, as it gives
the article a more personal feel (which we like!), but for the most
part, the article should not be overly personal and casual.
Instead, it should reflect your expertise on the topic. (Note:
Once you are approved as a contributor, if you have something more
personal or casual to share, i.e., you would like to share about the
antique shop you discovered in your city last weekend, you may post
those items on the A2D blog.)
10. A2D does not pay for article
submissions.
11. If you fail to meet your obligation of 5
articles in three months, we will remove your biography page from our
contributors page. However, your article(s) will remain on our
site as per #4 and #5 above. Also, your linked photo/byline on
your articles will be replaced with a simple text byline.
We reserve the right to:
1. Accept or reject any submission;
2. Edit any submission;
3. Return any article to you for editing for
grammar, length, quality of content, etc.
Are you ready to get started?
If you're interested in being an A2D Contributor, please
complete the following form for consideration. You will need to
copy and paste a sample of your writing. This does not need to be
unique material. It can be from your own website, or an article
you have written for another publication. This article will not
appear on the A2D website. We simply want to have a look at a
sample of your writing.
We make every effort to contact you
within seven days from date of submission.
