Before & After: Eight Amazing Coffee Table Makeovers

I realized that I have quite an accumulation of coffee tables. I have about five of them in my storage building, plus one at home that I bought from Goodwill a few weeks ago, and then the one that I rescued from the dumpster earlier this week. I need to do something with these, and I need inspiration for them! So I’ve gathered eight amazing coffee table makeovers that I really like. I hope they inspire you, too!

    1. Mel, those are both great! Thanks so much for sharing them! I think the rectangle one is my favorite. 🙂 There’s just something about a white paint/stained top combo that I find so appealing.

    1. Those are great! I’m going to have to show Matt the backgammon table. He would LOVE that! That’s one of our favorite games, so I know as soon as I show it to him, he’s going to want me to make one. 🙂

  1. These are amazing redoes. I’m excited to see what you do with yours. I tried to click on the links of a few of the blogs and none of them worked. Just thought I’d let you know.

  2. I am about to do a coffee table this weekend for my sunporch. It’s one of those cut-down pedestal tables that I got from Craig’s List for $25. I hope that it doesn’t look too big in the room. Good luck on yours!

  3. Every single one of those tables is an inspiration, but I have to tell you that Korrie at RedHenHome is the reason I started blogging. I wanted to re do my dinning room table like one of her inspirational tables. I haven’t done it yet!

    1. Wow, now that took a lot of work!! I’ve been so tempted to pick up some of those metallic Martha Stewart paints at Home Depot but could never think of anything to use them for. They look great as accents on your coffee table!

    1. Simply beautiful. I think this already in a previous comment, but I’ll say it again…there’s just something about that white paint/stained wood combo that I find so appealing!! Maybe that’s what I should do with my dumpster coffee table. Since the top isn’t real wood, I could replace it like you did. Hmmm…now you’ve got me thinking…

  4. Help!! I’m working on a vintage pedestal, claw foot dining table but I can’t decide on the color! To everyone: if you could choose a color for the table, what would it be?

  5. Do you think I could use a small kitchen table in a make over to a coffee table. Cutting the legs off or way down…

  6. I have a marble top coffee table.its stained really bad but It’s really a nice piece .Any suggestions ?
Ps: tried to clean the marble didn’t work ,so it has to be covered or changed.

  7. Love all the tables? How did you put the wording on the French Style table. I have one very similar and would like to try this. Is it a stencil or decal? Any insight would be appreciated… I love it!

  8. I have a coffee table that i loved when i bought it but over the last 3 years it has taken sone wear and tear from eveeyday use. I am sending you my latest coffee Table posts! An old iron beauty found at a thrift store, that I re did to make new again. The unique thing, I used the help of our readers to vote on the actual finish on the table. It was an awesome project and great fun. 11. Hi, if you have got small round table, why not turn it into focal point in your hallway or by the window and use it as a colourful detail to compliment your décor? If you have got cream / beige decorated hallway, you can paint small round table in cream shade and add lime green vintage detail to it, to create something quirky and unusual:
