Bring Your Digital Files To Life With #CanonPIXMA

I don’t know if I’ve ever shared this with you, but I used to be really into scrapbooking.  I mean, really into it during the early Creative Memories days when there was no such thing as digital scrapbooking.  In fact, I might even say that I enjoyed it more than interior decorating there for a couple of years.

Sadly, I’ve let that passion fall by the wayside, so much so that now, I can’t even remember the last time I held actual photographs in my hand. Do you remember those days of taking a roll of film in to be processed, and then the excitement as you opened up that envelope to thumb through all of the newly-printed pictures to find the best ones? I actually miss those days.

Everything is digital now. My pictures go from my my digital camera to my computer, and then to various online places like Facebook or my blog. But actually printing out pictures? I honestly can’t remember the last time I did that.

So I love that Canon is trying to help people bring their digital files to life once again with their new Canon PIXMA printer.

But this isn’t just another printer. This PIXMA printer is a printer for the new digital age. With the PIXMA Cloud app, you can print photos and documents from your favorite social platforms like Facebook, Flickr and Dropbox, directly from your mobile or tablet device wirelessly and without a computer.

Yep, you read that right.  Without a computer.  Pretty cool, right?

And with the PIXMA Cloud app on your mobile device, you can print from anywhere.

Are you letting that sink in?  Print from anywhere without a computer.

The Perfect Printer For Us Creative Types

Think of how convenient this could be for us creative types. While I’m out and about in town, I often come across things that I find inspiring — things that might inspire a project in my own home. I often take pictures with my phone, but so often once the picture is taken and stored on my phone, I forget to go back and review it later. So that inspiration is pretty much lost. Out of sight, out of mind. (I’m not the best with staying on top of my photo organization, or emptying the pictures off of my phone. 😀 )

With the PIXMA Cloud app, I can be out and about, come cross something inspiring, snap a picture, and print.  Then when I get back home to my office, that inspiration is sitting there on my desk right at my fingertips.  No longer “out of sight, out of mind.”

I can’t wait to put this printer to use.  I feel my creativity about to shift into overdrive.  😀

  1. Hi, Kristi –
You mean you haven’t used this printer yet? I love your blog & the integrity you bring to your recommendations. One of the main reasons I read your blog is because you always tell it like it is — the good, the bad, & the ugly — step-by-step, before, during, & after. This is the first time that I can recall that you have ever sung the praises of a product before using it. Can you understand why I might be a bit confused…& disappointed? Since this isn’t one of your April Fool’s posts, I have to ask: hey, where’s Kristi???

  2. I have both Lexmarks and Canon printers hooked up to my computer, both scan, fax, can take sd cards and the Canon does an absolutely beautiful job printing both photos and documents.

  3. Oooh yet another reason to feel that you’re a creative kindred spirit 🙂 When I returned from living in the middle east, having been away from the western world for a few years, I was sooo excited to find new products – new machines – like the silhouette cameo (which I adore and use a lot) and the Big Shot embosser/cutter, not to mention stampin’ up and all the cool punches that Martha just had to put out…I’m ready to really get back into scrapbooking and I’m so excited about it!
I figure it’s cheaper than golfing and since I make all my cards and most of my gifts, that’s my excuse and justification 😉 However..I have to second what Mittens said…you haven’t used this printer yet? Kristiiiiiii!!! I’m excited about a review from you because I have a b&w laser printer for text…but I don’t have a colour printer yet, and I’ve been looking at them and don’t know which one to get – can you let us know what you think of it, so that I can buy one too? And where is the best place to pick one up – are there any deals being offered by cannon, and is yours the one that has separate ink cartridges? I think that’s an important feature..

  4. Is this a photo printer only? I tried to find it online and was confused at the number of printers that came up. A model number would be a big help.

  5. I bought a Nikon D3200 not to long ago…when I’m in the market for a new printer I will keep that one in mind.
Still following your new house project…love reading your blog…enjoy all your inspiration, and can empathize and sympathize with all the frustration of home ownership…and I also love making a home, whether it be a house, condo, apartment…never tried a boat though ; )

  6. I thought I would get one of those printers but there are several different pixma model numbers. Which one is this?
