I'm so happy to have the photo galleries now added to the new A2D! These galleries are very much improved over the old ones, and once the photos are tagged (I still have quite a bit of work to do on that), then they'll also be searchable by any number of words and room features. As before, these galleries include rooms from incredibly talented interior designers and decorators from across the U.S. (and some from beyond), but this time, I'm … [Read more...]

Inexpensive and Colorful Clock Makeover
I don't even have a wall clock in my home. I rely on the clock on my stove, the clock on my computer, and my alarm clock in the bedroom. Why? Because I can never find a nice clock that actually interests me. But this DIY version from Wonderful Joy Ahead definitely caught my eye! I love the colorful face, the big graphic numbers, and the simplistic faux bois background. The best part...the cost of this project came in at around $5. To see … [Read more...]

Painted and Decoupaged Headboard
It seems like this week has a recurring theme--decoupage! On Tuesday, I shared with you a chest of drawers that I recently painted and decoupaged for a pre-teen girl named Caroline. Now I'll show you the crazy, colorful, out-of-the-box headboard that I made for her room. Ready? Caroline specifically wanted the word "peace" on her headboard, but this design could be easily adapted for any young girl's room. Literally any color(s) of … [Read more...]
Bailey’s Bedside Table:: Before & After
Do you remember this bedside table I bought at Goodwill for Bailey's room? Yesterday, it underwent a bit of a transformation. I started out by using my electric sander on all of the flat surfaces just to remove any rough areas and to give it some "tooth". I finished up the sanding by hand since there were so many grooves and details that couldn't be reached with the electric sander. (I really need to invest in a … [Read more...]
How To Make An Egg Carton Flower Pendant Light
There are so many fun crafty things that can be done with paper pulp egg cartons. When I came across these unique purple ones in the trash at my office (yes, I dug them out of the trash), I just knew they could be turned into something really spectacular. My idea? This paper pulp egg carton flower pendant light. I think this flower pendant light would add a pretty feminine touch to a girl's room or any room that needs a pretty, feminine touch … [Read more...]
