Color Palette--What Accent Colors Will Go With My Lavender Walls?

I am in the process of decorating my small bedroom. I was wondering what color of bedding and curtains and accessories to use to decorate my room. The walls are lavender with a white trim and the furniture is beige. I was thinking a dark purple bedding with purple and gold pillows and a gold curtains. Is that too much? I don't want my room to look depressing. I want a spacious and mature look.
Answer:
I love lavender walls. I think they look so fresh and youthful (not immature...just youthful). I do like your idea of using a dark purple as an accent color, but I'm not liking the idea of gold. I would opt for a fresher color, like a green with the same color intensity as your lavender. I would also use metals in a silver finish, and then add some shiny objects, like a crystal chandelier, or glass accents.
Another option would be to use a color palette of lavender, black, and white, with accents of light pink. This can have a very fresh look. For inspiration, have a look at this room on my blog. It's a bedroom designed by London designer Caroline Vesey. You could easily replace the blue with lavender, and it would be equally as beautiful.
Happy decorating,
