Hand-Painted Graphic Wall Design
DIY Project, Wall Treatment:
With this hand-painted graphic wall design, adding some bling to
a plain wall is easier than you think. A little paint and some
creativity will easily make a bland space hip. Try this super-easy
project and you’re sure to get rave reviews. What’s also great is that
the finished look is clean and classy, and will not detract from your
décor. The shapes on my wall give it a lot of character but are very
subtle, and they catch the light in a delicious way.
Skill Level:

Materials & Tools:
1. A plain wall
2. Left over latex pain in the shade of
your wall
3. Pearlescent paint in white
4. Blackboard chalk
5. Soft, round paintbrush with pointed
tip for edges
6. Soft, thick brush for filling in
7. Soft, damp cloth or napkin

Instructions:
1.
With the chalk, draw some freehand organic ‘bubbles’ on the wall in
a cascading pattern, roughly from one upper corner to the opposite
lower corner.
2. Draw an inner circular shape in each ‘bubble’. Any mistakes
can easily be wiped off with the damp cloth.
3. Mix together some latex paint in the color
of your wall with the pearlescent paint in a 1:1 proportion. You
should get a lighter, pearly version of your wall color, but you can
play around with this to your preference.
4. Start painting in the shapes, carefully
filling in the edges. Again, any mistakes can be quickly wiped
off. Let dry. Repeat once. Let dry.
5. Wipe away all chalk marks with damp cloth.
You’re done!
Variations:
Depending on the level of your ability and
the feel of the room, you could try any number of shapes:
- Thick,
broken lines in a staggered pattern all over the wall will give
you a fantastic ‘wallpaper’ with the latest luxe look;
- Simple
butterfly silhouettes in varying sizes will dazzle your baby;
- Leaf shapes floating down from ceiling to floor will jazz up an
entryway.
