From McMansion To French Country Cottage

I love this home, which was featured in the February issue of D Home. Dallas designer Martha Sweezey took a large “builder’s special”, with oak cabinetry, monochromatic paint schemes, basic light fixtures, etc. (otherwise known as a McMansion), and turned it into a beautiful home with designer touches and a French country feel.

I love the grouping of pictures with the plates. Incorporating different shapes always makes for an interesting design element in a room. Bookshelves are also one of my favorite things to decorate.

I love the look and feel of this cottage. Very open and airy. The French country look always gives off a sense of elegance and this place is no exception.
Really like the choice of woods within a few of the pictures, gives it that natural feel. Very nicely done!
