Hi Everyone! As we develop this website, we’re always trying to think of new things to add to better serve our visitors. Right now, we have up to 1,500 great visitors every day, but few of you ever make your presence known (i.e., comments).
Our desire for this site is to establish a community of people interested in design and decorating. To that end, we’re thinking about
where people could help each other with decorating projects, share their ideas, and show off their beautiful homes and diy projects.
However, a forum can be quite an undertaking–not only in setting it up, but also in maintaining it–and we want to be sure that there’s an interest if we’re going to do the work.
We’ve set up a very simple poll to gather information. Click here to go to the poll (it’ll open in a separate page/tab).
We’ve also set up a comment section on that page, so please, please voice your opinion, and let us know what you think! You can also leave a comment on this post, but if possible, please go to this link to leave comments and vote. It’s just easier to have all of the info on one page.
Now come on, all you shy people! Let’s hear what you have to say!
Thanks in advance for your input, and happy decorating!

Hey there! Thanks so much for visiting! :-)

I'm an interior decorator-turned-blogger, and a DIY fanatic. My blog is where I share

It’s really, really a lot of work to host a forum. I do on another site and it’s pretty much a PITA. These weird software problems crop up, and then somebody always angry at someone else, and then you have to mod and people don’t like that, and…it’s really a lot of effort for little return.
Thanks so much for your input, Julie! I’d love to know what forum you run. And do you have moderators? Or do you do everything yourself?
I read a forum daily. The site has recently allowed a poster to become a moderator because of some weird religious spam, but other than that, the community is really great. I feel like I have made friends from all over the world. I even allowed by daughters, ages 11 and 15, to join because of the information and comraderie.
So, if you can do it, I say go for it. I will join, and I will post! The site I am a member now is for a hobby, not my job, which yours would be. So maybe it will not be as fun/relaxing for me, but I am still willing!
I agree with Julie. I think that hosting a forum sounds like a ton of extra work. You could always give it a couple month test run however and see how it works out.
