Giving Thanks…

Good morning, friends!  Today is Thanksgiving here in the U.S.—a day of reflection and thankfulness.

I have so much for which to be thankful.  Way too many to list, in fact.  But I did want to take some time to publicly give thanks for two things today.

First, I am thankful for you—those of you who visit me day after day, checking in to see what I’m working on, or what projects I’ve finished, or to give your input when I have no idea which direction to go on a project.  You brighten my day, and you make this whole blogging thing a whole lot of fun.  But most of all, God has used you to provide for Matt and me in a way that you may never fully understand.

You see, at just the right time in our lives, when Matt’s health was suffering greatly due to the M.S. that he deals with on a daily basis, and when he couldn’t go back to work because of it, and just when we were uncertain about how we were going to make ends meet, God miraculously began to make my blog grow.  In other words, He brought you here.  Through the growth of my blog, God has provided financially for us in miraculous ways I never thought possible.  We started this year constantly worrying about finances, trying to remind ourselves that we should “be anxious for nothing”, but realizing that that’s much easier said than done.

But now we know the faithfulness of our God on a level we’ve never experienced before.  Now we don’t worry.  Don’t get me wrong, we’re definitely not living high on the hog, but we have enough.  God provides for our needs, and He uses you to do that.

So thank you!  Thank you for visiting me each day.  Thank you for your comments, for the fun interaction, for your encouraging words.  Thank you.

So it’s probably quite clear, the second thing I want to publicly give thanks for today is my God.  I don’t talk about my faith here on this blog much, but it’s most assuredly something I’m not ashamed of.  And I simply cannot let this Thanksgiving slip by without publicly acknowledging the single most important thing in my life—my relationship with God made possible through my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
o give thanks
To my American friends, I wish you a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving, full of fun, family, laughter, and good food.  Don’t forget to take time to reflect upon those things for which you are thankful!

I’ll see you back here on Monday.

  1. that is beautiful – wishing you a happy Thanksgiving as well.  I never realized it was MS that Matt had – every time my toes go numb, I will think of him as well (and say my little prayer that I am thankful I have toes to go numb).  Blessings to you both, bev

  2. I suspected that you are a Christian by some of your comments in your blog…but now I can rejoice that I know for sure that you are a sister in Christ.  May God continue to bless both of you as you lean on Him.  Remembering that God is sovereign and in control of all situations and that He is always good reassures me daily.  I love your blog and all your wonderful ideas.

    Be blessed this Thanksgiving day,
    Dianne
