J & A Bedroom:: Mystery Project Revealed

Remember the other day when I showed you a glimpse of the draperies for J & A’s bedroom, and I said I was making one more thing with the cotton canvas and ribbon combo? Well, I’m finally at a point where I can show you some progress…

Any idea what it is?

Okay, I’ll give you a hint…or, really, the answer…

Okay, they really are for tables…bedside tables! I just put that last picture in there because I love it. 🙂

If you saw the preview of the bedding that I posted on the Addicted 2 Decorating Facebook page, you know that the bedskirt is gathered (I can’t even remember the last time I used a gathered bedskirt!!), and then there are gathered ruffles on the pillow shams. Well, I don’t like to have too much frilly stuff in a room, so I wanted to balance it out with two bedside tables that are more structured and tailored.

Now that you know what they are, have another look…

Now I’ll let you in on a little secret, and reveal to you how my mind works (or rather, how it doesn’t work).

The truth is, I’m kind of winging it as I go. I’m still not quite sure how the finished tables are going to look. I’ve wrestled back and forth on two different designs in my mind, and I’m still not sure which direction I want to go. So, the final product will be as much a surprise for me as it is for you! :~D Yep, more times than I’d like to admit, that’s how I work. It just seems to come together in my head as I go along.

So, for now, I’ll continue making panels.

  1. Can't wait to see the finished table. I love the extra detail you added with the small inside stripe.

  2. Can't wait to see the finished tables. They really look well done too! I understand the "winging it" thing. I do that too with my own house. Luckily, I plan out my clients a little better!
