Short Cabinets Heightened To The Ceiling
Do you have upper cabinets in your kitchen or laundry room that sit about 14+ inches from the ceiling? If so you can extend those cabinets to go all the way to the ceiling and not only increase your storage space, but also heighten the look of your cabinets. This beautiful example of short cabinets heightened to the ceiling comes from Cristina of Remodelando La Casa.
Here’s what the short cabinets looked like in Cristina’s laundry room…
And here’s what they look like after she extended them to the ceiling and added crown moulding…
Doesn’t that make a huge difference? It’s the difference between stock cabinets and custom cabinets! To see more details of how she did this, visit Remodelando La Casa. (Don’t worry…it’s in English.) 🙂

Addicted 2 Decorating is where I share my DIY and decorating journey as I remodel and decorate the 1948 fixer upper that my husband, Matt, and I bought in 2013. Matt has M.S. and is unable to do physical work, so I do the majority of the work on the house by myself. You can learn more about me here.
Kristi,
Thanks for this kitchen remodeling idea! I especially like the “mini” molding separating the old cabinets from the new ones. I’ll be sure to keep this idea in my pocket for future projects.
