The Pinterest Challenge:: Two Projects Inspired By A2D!

Did you participate in the Pinterest Challenge?  This challenge was the brainchild of Katie Bower, and the idea was to actually DO something with that creative inspiration that you’ve spent all of this time pinning to your Pinterest boards.  In other words, stop pinning (just for a little while, at least), and start DOING.

I didn’t have a chance to get a project done for the challenge (hopefully they’ll make this a regular thing in the future!), but I was thrilled to see two different projects that were inspired by little ‘ole ME!  What a thrill to see stuff on A2D being used as inspiration for others.  (After all, that’s the whole reason I do this blogging/website thing!)

The first one was actually by Katie.  So honored.  Truly.  She used my wood shim mirror as her inspiration.  Remember that mirror?

Katie decided to change hers up a bit, and used a herringbone pattern.  (Have I mentioned that I have a slight obsession with herringbone lately?)  Here’s how hers turned out…

This next project was inspired by turquoise piano and freeform plate wall in Cassandra’s dining room.

Andrea at {love} details decided to use the piano and plate wall as her inspiration for a wall in her dining room.  But instead of using a piano, she used a glass front cabinet, and it turned out fantastic!

Didn’t that turn out great?!  I love that she didn’t copy the piano and plate wall, but rather used it as inspiration for her own interpretation.  Here are the two side by side…

I think this Pinterest challenge was a great idea!  I hope to be more on the ball next time so I can join in.  There’s so much inspiration out there, but what good does it do to be continually inspired if we’re never going to DO anything, right?

  1. Wow!  I love how both projects turned out.  I think the plate wall is my fave b/c of the colors & the way the plates look like they're floating off into the sky 🙂
