I was looking at this great slideshow about wallpaper on the Southern Accents website, and came across three gorgeous pictures I wanted to share with you.

If you’ve read my blog for long, you already know how much I love wallpaper. I find it sad that so many people today who have given up on wallpaper altogether for several reasons: the idea that it’s “out of style”, the frustration with difficult wallpaper removal, the dominance of decorative paint treatments during the 90′s (which still lingers with so many people).
If these ideas keep you from using wallpaper, it’s time to move past them. Wallpaper is definitely not “out of style”. In fact, very much the opposite. Wallpaper has gone from something that was only used by those who enjoy traditional design, to NOW something that’s also being used by those who enjoy designs of all styles, including modern and contemporary. Also, many wallpaper companies today have developed easy-removal wallpaper, which comes off in full sheets. No more dragging out the special solutions, wallpaper perforator, and wallpaper steamer. No more scraping for hours on end, leaving your walls bruised and gouged.
So let’s be open-minded and give wallpaper another chance! And let’s face it…aren’t the decorative (faux) paint treatments starting to look a bit tired?

Thank you. I am so sick of telling my firends about wallpapers I love and them saying it’s out of style. It just hasn’t gone mainstream (HGTV) yet. I think they have been watching too much “Design to Sell”.
