Dresser Paint Color Options

Happy Saturday, y’all! I’m here on a rare Saturday because I need your input. Yesterday, I brought the dresser into the bedroom and tried out the paint samples. As it turns out, I purchased six instead of five. That worked out perfectly because the dresser has six big drawers.

These are all Behr colors from Home Depot. The colors on the left, top to bottom, are Rococo Beige, Sandstorm, and Sandstone Cliff. The colors on the right, top to bottom, are Casual Khaki, Studio Clay, and Pure Earth.

Since I don’t have the recliner yet, I stacked some boxes in the corner and draped the drapery fabric over them. This fabric isn’t exactly the same color as the chair fabric, but it’s close enough. And then I stood back and looked.

I’ll be honest. I have such a hard time with neutrals. I’m trying to imagine that entire dresser painted in one of those colors and sitting against white wainscoting, and none of them do anything for me.

I tried to get a couple of wider views from each direction so that you could see everything together.

The only one that I could even kind of, sort of imagine on the entire dresser is the darkest one, bottom right, Pure Earth. I like it because it would at least give some contrast with the wainscoting. But at the same time, I think it blends with the floor a little too much.

I don’t know why I have such a hard time with neutrals on furniture and cabinets. Neutral paint colors on wood furniture and cabinets are just not my thing. I can admire them in other people’s homes, but I almost never like them in my home.

So I don’t know what to do here. Should I try the darkest one? It would just take a couple of hours to paint the whole thing. Maybe I’ll be surprised and I’ll actually love it when the whole thing is painted. I tend to doubt it, but there’s always a possibility.

Or should I do something more colorful, even if it does make the dresser more of a focal point? I know I said I wanted to keep the focus all on the headboard wall, but if that means painting a rather larger piece of furniture in a color that feels like it’s sucking the life right out of me, I might have to go a different direction with the dresser.

I really don’t know what to do here. I know that not everything needs to be a focal point in a room. I get that. But at the same time, what do you do when you’re just simply not a “neutral” kind of person? I wouldn’t want to introduce another color into the room on such a big, dominant piece. And the room already has more than enough teal. So that literally leaves one option — orange/coral. I KNOW! I’ve really painted myself into a corner with this one, right?

I think I’m going to have to try it, though. I may end up with a neutral dresser painted in Pure Earth, but I’ll regret it if I don’t at least try a few orange/coral paint colors first. I just have to see with my own eyes if it would work.

UPDATE: I tried to do a couple of mockups of the dresser in two different corals plus a green from the bird fabric. These aren’t great, but they’ll at least give us an idea of what each might look like.

Here’s the lighter coral color. I pulled this color from the area rug…

Here’s the darker one, which is just more orange and less coral. I also pulled this from the most saturated coral/orange in the rug. I think this might be a bit overpowering.

And then I decided to try a green that I pulled from the bird fabric. Keep in mind that there’s no green in the area rug, so as of right now, the only green in the room is in the bird fabric.

    1. I second this, a color like the blinds/night stands.I wouldn’t do the corals or green. You have enough color with the textiles already, which you can easily change if you felt like it.

    1. Yes. This would be my recommendation. The green would bring in color but at the same time would almost act as a neutral.

  1. I previously suggested using one of the greens from the bird print and I still believe it would be a great choice. A muted green wouldn’t demand too much attention. I don’t care for ivory next to white (wainscotting) because it often looks dirty. I felt the beige tones would fade away into the floor. There is a lot of that gorgeous teal in the room and the orange is the predominant color in the rug so I wouldn’t use those colors.

  2. I like the darkest color. You are going to have the chair in the corner plus some art or lamps that can be colorful. It is a nice warm color.

  3. Go colorful! The ivories/neutrals just look dirty next to your white wainscoting. Try muted greens or the coral/orange and see what they look like.

  4. I AM a neutral person, painted my whole house white. I don’t like any of the colors.
You might try orange body and neutral drawers on dresser so it’s not so much in your face.

  5. What about doing the darkest khaki on the bottom right and doing just a little bit of fine line detailing in the trim using a coral?

    1. Or even just doing the entire dresser in the darkest color on the bottom right and then sourcing some sort of snazzy jeweled or beaded drawer pulls in the orange/coral color?

  6. I’m not a lover of green, but this time I agree with two other people. Try a muted green, don’t waste your time with any of the neutrals. They just look dirty against the beautiful white.
That said I do like the idea of tying it into your wood shades too. Once it’s next to the chair I think the dresser will blend with the room, not becoming a focal point.
PS: I think the fabric for the bench is too dark. It weighs the area down. Please pull a color from the floral(?) throw pillow.

  7. I looked at the colors and thought, hmmm, not crazy about any against the white. So many options.. A blue lighter or darker than the wallpaper? A rust but that’s almost too predictable but could tie everything together? Or maybe something totally different like distressed with white on top distressed with blue as the base coat or lighter blue with darker blues around edges? By blue I mean teal colors in the room. You have incredible taste so whatever you decide will look fabulous! I can’t wait to see everything completed!

    1. Ok, after seeing the mockups, I like the coral!! I like the idea of the darker. It just needs to be muted a little. I (I’m sure in a minority) like how the mockup looks distressed with the blue and white around the edges! I feel like it blends with the rug!
Can’t wait to see what you decide!!

  8. How about going the opposite direction and painting it black? It will pop against the wall and at the same time, not compete with the other colors in the room.
To me, off-whites always look terrible next to true white and you already have plenty of color in the room. If a warm wood stain isn’t possible, I think black may be the next best option.

    1. I also thought of doing a matte black or charcoal, to be a grounding statement to the rest of the room. The suggestions for a paint close to the end table shade is an idea, but I know you aren’t wanting to try and match them. To have either of these make sense, you might consider painting the new door the same, to bring it full circle.

  9. If you’re wanting it not to stand out, yet not be a neutral, I’d go with a shade of green from your fabric. I’m confident it will end up beautiful whatever color you choose. Be true to yourself!

  10. I think you should wait until the headboard is all done and THEN decide what color would look best. It would be easier than trying to see it in the abstract. Also, you seem to feel like you should go with neutral but we all know that you are not a neutral girl. 🙂 I would think some sort of dark, muted? orange would look great but again, you will have to wait and see.

  11. Personally I don’t care for any of the neutrals either. I like the darker blue. I know it’s not the right color but a really, really deep dark teal would work and not fight with the main wall of the room. Orange/coral does not appeal at all. Or strip it down and go with a dark stain. Just my thoughts! I’m sure, after following you for so long, whatever you decide will be perfect. Keep on keeping on!

  12. Have you considered an even lighter shade of coral from the rug? That could lean a bit more neutral but still give you the pop of color. The neutral colors you’ve already painted look dirty to me against the wainscoating.

    1. I thought too of a “washed out” shade of coral, not a strong coral. Keep the saturation level down instead of strong.

  13. I think the the green is nice. You could also do a gray for a neutral.

I think the problem with the beiges and browns is they’re too close to wood tones, so your eye thinks it should be wood not paint, then feels confused.

  14. I love the darker tan. That was my pick before I scrolled down to see the way you were leaning. I love that it blends with the floor and brings the floor color to a second place in the room. You can add colorful accessories to the top to bring the other colors to that side. Honestly, I deeply dislike (alternate phrase to avoid hate!) the dresser in either the coral l or green. Here is an idea, and you can totally trash it, but here goes: what if you painted the dark tan and used your bird fabric on the flat part of the drawers and side panels of the dresser? It can be glued/ attached using fabric starch. If you hate it, pull it off. Just a thought to liven up a neutral dresser. Good luck!

  15. Of the neutrals, perhaps Sandstorm. Big NO to the green. Of the corals, the lighter one. Would you consider some lighter version of your chair color?
But we’re not seeing any art, TV? or pillows so we’re not seeing the whole picture. I think the floor is the most important thing for it to look good with since it seems so dominant. In my opinion, a stained wood is what it’s calling for.
I like that you’re thinking ahead but I just don’t think you’re ready for this decision. Keep pondering while you’re continuing with other projects. What does your mom think? She has an artist’s eye.

    1. I agree with this comment from the standpoint of you’re trying to get to the finish line before you have started the race. I don’t think it’s necessary to have every single duck in a row because you have a history of changing your mind anyway. So it seems like unnecessary pressure you’re putting on yourself. I think another comment or said get the stuff done like the walls and the headboard and something may come to you, but I don’t believe there’s a rule that says you have to be so rigid about what color the dresser is going be.

  16. I liked Pure Earth from the beginning. Really like it with the actual paint on wood. I would try it first. The others look too pale to me. I don’t think it will blend with floor too much. Also, wild thought. Could you do the lower drawers in a couple of shades darker? That would take care of blending for sure. Maybe even do all three rows in descending shades of Pure Earth. Can’t wait to see what you decide!

  17. I am still sticking with stain to match night tables. I know you said you don’t like matching furniture. I don’t like the idea of green. Maybe a lighter color of the wallpaper. I cannot imagine a big orange piece of furniture in a bedroom. Of the color samples you show, the dark tan would be my choice

    1. Same. I think if you made the dresser match the night stands and the shades, it would look great. If you don’t like that, the lighter coral is my pick. I don’t like neutrals or green at all. I actually don’t mind the teal at all. I know you are going to have a lot of teal in the room, however.

  18. If you can’t go with a rich wood dresser, either the lighter coral or the green is good. The neutrals are awful in my humble opinion. Lol. If you paint it one of those colors you’ll be redoing it in two weeks. Maybe two days.

  19. I agree they all clash with the wainscoting or blend with the floor. I’d do a darker terra cotta or rust that’s darker than the floor. It’ll bring in the coral color family but not make it a focal point. Have you tried looking at the colors with a black and white photo?

  20. I like “ Pure Earth” the best of these. Maybe try a couple of shades darker? Something between that and the flooring, if you choose to go neutral.

  21. I would choose the lighter coral I think it stands out enough but not too much. I personally don’t think any of the neutrals look good with the white wainscoting. Always look forward to seeing what you do. YOU would hate a neutral dresser.

  22. Do you realize you initially started talking about painting the dresser the color of wood? You said something about not liking wood but maybe you should reconsider. Wood always goes with everything and will soften your overall look, without drawing attention.

  23. No to green. I have an old SW paint deck, and I looked through it and came up with a color called Persimmon SW6339 that I *think* might work. I think a coral is the way to go here. Another thought is to decoupage the bird fabric on the inserted areas of the drawers, but you probably wouldn’t like that! I doubt I would either, but you have a better eye than me! (I don’t think doing it in “wallpaper blue” would be too much, against the white wainscoting.)

    1. I love the idea of making the dresser match the bird fabric. I would probably do the entire dresser – not just the drawers. Maybe you could paint it to match the fabric – if you don’t like the decoupage idea. That would be gorgeous!

  24. As soon as i saw the beiges, I thought a green from the bird fabric would be better.
So green, but not that one in the mockup.

  25. Lots to think about. I am more of a “finish the things I am definite about”. Get the grass cloth up. Pause, build the headboard & drape the floral over it & see how you like it.
The curtains & bed dressing are the jewelry of the room that will bring the spark you love, so get the furniture in place before you decide. I am with you on the dresser neutrals, they don’t excite me. Have you thought about painting it the background blue undercoat wall color or strip, stain or veneer the dresser to get the warmth of wood in the room (tying togeher the master bath walnut dresser or bedside tables? I love your velvet fabric for the chair but it is calling for an accent color from the rug. Use the pretty drapery trim on the big pillows keeping the focal point on the bed not the drapes. Maybe also use some of the trim on the upholstered bench in the suite entry! I am pretty excited with your room. The possibilities are all so exciting. I wish I had the room design software to play with it! Your rooms always exude a serene but still playful attitude that I love.

  26. I agree with you that the one color (the bottom right) that looks good against the wainscoting seems like it might disappear against the floor. I vote for either a more saturated version of that color, to create some depth against the floor, or pulling that charcoal (?) color from the rug. I also think doing it in the same Polar Bear as the wainscoting, with a wood-look top and possibly some detail added to the drawers could be a good look. It’s hard to tell without being able to see the whole room all at once, but the green and coral make my eye bounce around in a way I don’t love. I like those colors better as accents and in patterns rather than as a big chunk. If you did go that route, some ageing might soften the vibe.

  27. Definitely a conundrum; my first thought was I don’t like any of those colors and I felt so relieved when you felt the same way. I usually like neutrals , but those just do not trip my trigger and I don’t think they go in the room very well. It is difficult to tell though because the whole thing isn’t a unified color. Can’t say I’m too crazy about either one of the corals either. And the green is definitely out at least the way you have it mocked up. So I’m of no earthly use to you on this, but I do wish you good luck.

  28. I liked the earth color as I felt it would be less noticeable. That said, I loved the lighter coral with the rug. More balanced.

  29. I vote Pure Earth. You should try the neutral route. If it doesn’t work, try painting just the drawers and leaving the body alone. I really like your idea of making the headboard wall the focal point. Color on the dresser will definitely compete.

  30. I like the coral, your colors need color versus an off white. I agree, against the the white wain- scotting, it does not look right to have a neutral..

  31. Definitely a color! Those corals and green looked so much better! The neutrals against the white feel off and would bore you for sure. Trust your gut.

  32. The neutral colors do not compliment the white wainscoting. The paint makes the room too busy, even for you! Yes, to stain!

  33. I think a stain to match blinds is a good option. If you paint it a color it might be a distraction from the rest of the room

  34. Have you considered staining the top of the dresser and painting the rest? (Pure Earth) By staining the top, you’d balance out the visual weight of brown tones in the blinds and nightstands on the opposite wall, while adding interest to the neutral dresser.

  35. I think you need more contrast against the wainscoting and do not like any of the neutrals. The colors (coral and green) do not assimilate. I think you should try a color more like the two smaller chests on either side of the bed (darker taupe?). You can always top the dresser with a colorful runner for the pop of brightness you are looking for.

  36. Glad you’re thinking of not doing the neutrals. I think Earth would be the only good choice and it would look like the other woods in the room. Both of the corals look a bit bright to me. How about one of the darker corals from the bird material? Or maybe Look at the rug and the overall color and not just at the individual colors and try to come up with a color that has that look.

  37. I think I’d be bored to death with the neutrals on there too. Have you thought about instead of going entirely orange doing a stencil pattern or decoupage some of the drapery trim as a border around the drawers. Something on that idea. Color but not a huge block of color.

  38. I love Jenna’s idea of painting it Polar Bear with a sanded wood top. If that’s not for you, then perhaps a lighter teal pulled from the wainscotting.

  39. I like the darker one also. And for something different maybe add a transfer that is similar to the bird fabric or even a transfer of branches and birds in gold. I’ve seen these transfers on furniture and they are beutiful. Good luck on your choices.

  40. What about white (from the wall behind it) with the wood from the floor color for the top? The last one on the right matches the floor. I actually like the drawers the lighter color and the frame the teal color also. I liked the lightest color on the top left, but I guess with the wall being white behind it wouldn’t match very well. I def don’t like the orange or the green. Or all white dresser with colored knobs?

  41. I like color, but do not like the corals at all. Perhaps a stain as others have suggested would be the best option.

  42. Right, so I don’t like any of these colors either. Painting furniture is tricky and you don’t want this dresser to be a showcase so yes to neutral and NO to orange or Coral. Green can be neutral as can blue. I personally would have waited until you got closer to moving the dresser into the room, you might have found that the original blue worked.

  43. What about the lighter blue from your newer headboard fabric? IT would be just lighter than the wall colors and there’s also a lighter blue color in both the rug and the bird fabric. It may all tie together without making a statement?

  44. I can’t help but feel that it’s way too soon to be deciding on the color for the dresser. The grasscloth wallpaper, the corner chair and the blinds all bring in different textures and shades to that corner of the room. Add in the flooring color and that stunning rug with its vibrant orange means that the dresser has to be absolutely the correct color and shade! IMHO whatever color you choose it has to be a sharp, clear color, nothing “muddy”! I know it’s tempting to forge ahead with an easily accomplished element, but I think that as soon as the wall, chair, blinds and drapes are in place, the perfect color for the dresser will just jump out.

  45. Ithink the idea of transfers might just be the answer. There are some beautiful ones available. I have used Re-Design with Prima. I don’t recall if you have ever used any but they have birds and lots of options .

  46. I agree neutrals make me itch. I really like the lighter coral it’s beautiful and it goes perfectly. Go with your heart, if you don’t you will end up repainting it in the long run!🤣

  47. Please..the light coral..anything else will look out of place against the teal walls..and white wainscotting..the first thing when you walk into your room is the bed..the dresser will stand out if you paint it a wishy washy neutral

  48. Only because you asked, I think it is a premature decision to make now. At the end, with everything in place in the room, it will be so easy decide. The pattern of needing to have all the answers before the full effect of seeing all other things in place before you pick a color seems backwards to me. I assume you don’t see it that way.

At the end, you would I know yourself without needing input from people who can’t see the actual room nor feel the vibe it gives off.

If you must settle on a neutral, Pure Earth seems the logical choice. It creates the most contrast with the wainscoting.

P.S. Is the rug going to be positioned to be right next to the front of the night stands? If so, it seems unbalanced to leave so much bare floor exposed at the foot of the bed.

  49. I would go with the darkest drawer colour. I think it looks fantastic against the floor and I think it will provide the neutral you are looking for, letting the other coloured elements stand out. Any of the other colours are too pale against the wainscot.

  50. What if you painted the dresser the same color brown as the end tables? I don’t think any of the paint colors you have now are the right ones.

  51. I like the lighter coral as it flows right into the rug and contrasts with the walls and floors and is a break from the blue but looks great next to the blues.

  52. How about a metallic paint, silver or gold?
I’m with you that none of the paint samples look right in the room.

  53. Kristi, I’m a color girl and I love the new plan for the upholstered bed. I think you need to spread the coral around the room to balance the vibrant bed wall. I would paint the dresser in one of the coral shades. And when you show us the room it is always in very bright light but when you actually use the room at night I would imagine the light would be more subtle, lit by the lamps, etc? I think then the coral dresser will blend into your color scheme and balance the room. Good luck in your decision!

  54. I think the middle right color would be nice. I could see it had some undertones that shown through from the rug. It’s not white but not earth tone either

  55. I like the coral color for the dresser. You love color and I think you would be disappointed in the neutral. Not fond of the green.

  56. I like the lighter coral. Then maybe a darker green? None of the lighter neutrals work for me–they look dingy next to the wall, in my opinion, but the darkest one looks nice.

  57. Here’s a red herring for you! I actually think the chest of drawers itself is wrong! IMO its too tall against the wainscoting and makes any colour choice difficult. If the drawers were the same height as the top wainscoting rail, then I think any colour (except the neutrals) would sit better.
I like the idea of a more limey green (not too saturated tho), or a “quiter” shade of teal. And I LOVE the idea of decoupaging some headboard fabric or stencil of it on the drawers on a white background (same as wainscoting colour). In fact … this would be the ultimate solution which would perfectly balance the room.
Good luck …. this is a tough one.

    1. I hate to say it but I agree with this – I don’t like the dresser for the space. I think that I don’t like that dresser and drawer shape/trim strongly mimic the wainscoting a lot and it feels like a lot of rectangles. I think you want it to be special and are defaulting to a bold paint color, when I think it needs to be special but in its own way – not just a bold color. I also reallllly want it to be warm wood, and I remember that stripping it down isn’t really practical.

If it was me, I’d paint it something for now (maybe dark grey with gold hardware) and then keep your eye out on marketplace for a wood dresser that had some curve to it or flat front drawers or something that could be special in its shape, and break up the rectangles.

Regardless, it’s exciting to be thinking of the pretty things at this stage! It’s looking like such a real and pretty room!

      1. I think these two comments (Valerie + Kate) about the dresser itself are very much on point. So here’s a wild suggestion: remove the top 3 drawers from the dresser and lower the top so the dresser would only have 6 drawers. With your excellent woodworking skills I don’t think you’d have any problems executing this in a seamless way. And since it will be painted, it doesn´t matter if you need new “framing pieces” in a different type of wood to fit in between the drawers and the lowered top.

And light coral for the win, whether you downsize the dresser or not!

(But I also toyed with the wild idea of panting the whole dresser in the reverse pattern of the new headboard fabric – dark teal star pattern on the same white base as the wainscoting… 🙂 )

  58. In my mind, I’m seeing a dark stain, like the walnut in your bathroom. It won’t blend so much with the floor or nightstands yet it will still be neutral. I think it might just pull out the browns in the bird fabric and rug and won’t be too matchy-matchy. I think any coral will be too much, especially if you end up getting coral lamps, like you’ve shown in the past plus, you’re doing the coral border on the drapes. There’s also enough blue/teal in the room already. I think both of those would just be overwhelming. If you just want to paint and not stain, what about a slightly darker shade of the darkest drawer you painted? I like green but I think that since your rug doesn’t have any green in it, it will stick out like a sore thumb. I agree with others that any cream type color just looks dirty next to the white wainscoting so that doesn’t work.

Maybe trying to pick a color now needs to wait until the room gets put together a little more or at least until you’ve decided on all the other fabrics and finishes first.

  59. I DO like the contrast with either the green or the orange/coral. I think you need something to offset the neutral trim. I didn’t mind the darker neutral, but YOU get to choose – you’ll figure it out!

  60. I agree with you that the one color (the bottom right) that looks good against the wainscoting seems like it might disappear against the floor. The rest of the neutrals just look dirty next to the white wainscotting. I would either paint it a darker coral, almost rust, the darkest coral/orange in the bird fabric OR stain it a color similar to the color of the blinds and then “dress” the dresser with colorful plates, plants in pots. etc. to bring in the color you crave. I assume you are going to put a TV above the dresser for Matt to use on days he just doesn’t feel well enough to get out of bed. Personally, at least in my minds eye, I don’t like the distressed look some are suggesting. It just doesn’t fit the feel of the room. I also can’t see the green or teal working with everything else nor do I think decoupaging something on the drawers feels right. But it is your room and you will figure out works best for you and Matt. There are a lot of comments and opinions here and many of them (including mine) are conflicting. I hope the comments help you and don’t make things worse. Good Luck!

  61. To me, any of the off-white colors next to the pristine white wainscoting just look dingy. I do think that this side of the room needs some wood tones, or at least a hue that is the same intensity as the wood nightstands and window blinds. The lighter coral color brought to that side of the room would serve that purpose. Adding some wood tone accents on top of the dresser, such as a bowl or flower vase, would bring the wood tones to that area. But, it still is a good idea to build the room a step at a time, completing the bed coverings and the drapery before deciding on the dresser color, which will become more apparent as the room develops. The bedroom is coming along beautifully and I look forward each day to seeing it evolve.

  62. The reason the colours don’t look good is that you’ve got samples in yellow-beige, gold-beige and orange-beige against Polar Bear. Your floor is red oak, with pink-beige undertones. Take a look at https://mariakillam.com/colourwheel/

On the Behr site, the darker neutral they pair with Polar Bear in their palettes is called Off White, which might be ok with your other tones but I still think it’s not right for your room. I would probably do the body of the dresser in Polar Bear in a High Gloss Enamel, maybe with a wooden top the same tone as your side tables if all Polar Bear is too much for you.

  63. I do like the more muted coral color for the dresser, but maybe color itself is not the only factor. I would think you’d want something beautiful, creative and original to make your heart sing when you look at it. And yet you don’t want it to dominate.

So the first thing that came to mind for me was texture.
Other readers have touched on this by suggesting decoupage or stencils. It can be tactile texture as in gluing something interesting all over the piece, or “visual texture “ achieved by painting or transfers.
I once saw a dresser painted to look like bone inlay that was beautiful. You might find inspiration from all the geometric patterns in Turkish art and architecture. Putting a little love into this piece would be a creative pleasure for you. Not your style, but Daniel Kanter covered the front of a dresser with pieces of stained lath reclaimed from his walls. It looked amazing.
You can pick a color as the base, and keep it a bit muted, but take it over the top with creativity.
    Enjoy!

  64. Don’t know if I’m too late to the party…but my vote would be the lighter coral. It seems more you and think the room needs some color on that side of the room. If the goal is not to have too much wood, the neutrals feel like more “wood.” You kind of state that yourself. In my head, I thought maybe a green, but when I saw it…it was a “meh.” When I saw the coral, it feels like the rest of your house and something in me lifted.

  65. Definitely a muted orange, then don’t get orange bedside lamps that was in your original mock-up. Maybe gold or white lamps. But the orange dresser in the mock-up is a winner.

  66. In my eyes I see all the “whites” as to stark. The bottom right looks classic, deliberate and gives enough contrast without being “stand out bright”. Your plans for the room look classic and timeless with a touch of whimsy, I’d keep the dresser neutral but with contrast and warmth.

All this advice coming from someone who has been trying to choose a wall color for my open concept home for 6 months! Its true what they say, its easier to decorate other people’s home than your own. Excited to see whats next.

  67. Oh, I’m so glad you’re not in love with the neutrals….neither am I. I love the first coral….and think it would look amazing….not over power at all. I can’t do neutrals…. I don’t live in a neutral coloured world….could never do all white or beiges! Your bedroom is going to be stunning….

  68. I like the darkest neutral but keep the teal on the body of the dresser. I don’t mind the color being similar to the floor.
The lighter color conflict with the white wainscoting.
And I like the coral one too. But I’d check to see if it steals attention from the bed.
The handles you use on the dresser will also make the look more interesting.

  69. So, I’m catching up on my reading, going in order, and I’m sure decisions have already been made, but…
“The only one that I could even kind of, sort of imagine on the entire dresser is the darkest one, bottom right, Pure Earth. I like it because it would at least give some contrast with the wainscoting. But at the same time, I think it blends with the floor a little too much.”
I could have written this paragraph!! It encompasses my own thoughts EXACTLY. LOL
Now, back to reading to find out what happens next 🙂
