Studio Back Entry Wall Color, Round 2 (Here Are Your Suggestions)
Yesterday’s post about the four color options for the studio back entry walls didn’t clarify anything for me. (If you missed that post, and didn’t see the four color options, you can see them here.) There was a definite winner. The crowd favorite was unmistakably Behr Scallion.

And I was fine with it. I was gearing up to paint my walls Behr Scallion…until I walked into the room around 6:00pm yesterday and saw the sample colors on the wall in natural light at that time of day. It was immediately a hard no from me. That green that looked so nice and unmistakably green during the brightest part of the day had turned into a dark, muddy, brownish green. I know that kind of green is very popular right now, but it’s not popular in my house and to my eyes at all.
So that was disappointing. The other greens weren’t any better, so all of the greens are out. And since I’m clearly not 100% sold on the Vintage Velvet color either, I decided to start doing some mock ups based on the suggestions that I found in the comments on yesterday’s post. And my goodness, did y’all have suggestions! 😀
I couldn’t mock up every single one of them, and really, many of the suggestions were the same or variations on a theme. So I’ll share the ones that caught my attention.
Many of you suggested painting the walls the cabinet color. I actually really like this! I do wonder if it would end up being too much of a good thing, though. Or maybe it would bring balance to the room with the back entry walls and the cabinets on the opposite side of the room being the came color. It’s hard for me to tell. Too much? Or great balance?
Several people suggested painting the walls a lighter version of the cabinet color. That would be something like this…
And then a couple of people suggested going a darker shade of the cabinet color. I actually really love this.
So many people suggested colors in the gold, greenish yellow, citron families. Here’s a greenish yellow…
This one is more of a buttery yellow…
And then a truer gold color…
And here’s one that’s more of a citron color…
Next up, there were several suggestions for colors in the orange and peach color range. This is probably as orange as I could go…
And this is a little lighter…
And then a little lighter still…
Next up were the blue and teal suggestions. Those teal flowers that are on the top left edge of the fabric (are those even flowers?) aren’t as prominent or bold as the other colors, but that’s where I got the blue-green color that’s on the walls of the studio (which I am willing to repaint, by the way). So here’s a very light blue-green. It almost looks blue-gray.
And then here’s a little darker blue-green…
And then even darker…
And of course, several people suggested truer and lighter purples. The problem is that I’m very particular about purples, and I only really like purples that have a lot of blue in them, or purples that are really deep. Once we start venturing into the light purples, lilacs, periwinkles, etc., I’m not a fan. Those just remind me of Easter egg colors, and I don’t like them in large quantities in my house. But since they were suggested many times, I thought I’d do mock ups anyway.
Here’s a medium-light purple…
And here’s one that’s more in the lilac range…
And an even lighter lilac color…
I’m sure I could have done more, but they would have just been variations of the above themes. I think I’ve pretty much exhausted the main suggestions. So what stands out to you? Any of these?
I do want to note that (1) white walls in the back entry are not an option, and (2) painting the walls in the studio is an option, and I would actually consider white for the studio walls.
oh, I love the shade deeper than the cabinets!
I love the citron and the lightest blue green. Not a fan of the oranges or the purples – though purple is my favorite color. I’m sorry the scallion didn’t work out. What about a lighter green? Celery/apple/sage?
I am for any of the blue green type colors, although i really like the first one best, because it will go with color of the floors and the studio better, and let the wallpaper and fabric “shine”.
I vote for the lighter shade of Tuberose. The yellows are not doing it, as much as I like lighter colors. I would suggest painting the ceiling white to bring more light by reflection into that space. You have a beautiful light fixture in there but it’s lost in the dark green. The ceiling makes it look like a dark hole up there.
I do like your studio walls but I need white myself. I am a dyer and quilter and need to be able to see true colors without the influence of something like the wall color.
Dark blue-green with the middle blue-green as a second. Definite NO on the yellows or oranges.
Light blues are always my go to for wall color but that is just what i’m drawn to personally. I also really like using a tone lighter or darker than the cabinet color. Do a quick search for Sherwin Williams Anthology Purple. https://www.lowes.com/pd/HGTV-HOME-by-Sherwin-Williams-Anthology-Interior-Paint-Sample-Actual-Net-Contents-8-fl-oz/1000953128
We used this twice in 2 different houses because i had a really had time finding something in this tone from any other paint chip display
Hmmmm. Tough choices! Have you considered painting the back foyer walls the same color of the studio walls? Similar to tying the studio floor to the back foyer floor. Less work, but cohesive. Let the fabric and wallpaper be the focal points. Just a thought!
I agree with you, the fabric should be the star of the show. Make your life easy Kristi and go with the same color as your studio.
One vote for Greenish-yellow.
Forgot about the rose one deeper than the cabinets. Also nice. That’d be my 2nd choice :-).
You will ultimately find the perfect color. Perhaps you should wait until you have painted and installed the cabinets before deciding on this?
I do have a suggestion, not about the color, but about the brand of paint you are considering using. Not having your eye, I hired a really great staging decorator to help me pick out colors to repaint my spec house inside and out. She did a remarkable job, but the most important new thing I learned from her is that she always paints interiors with Benjamin Moore Aura paint. It does not contain black, so it looks less dark in shaded areas. She showed me using two large paint swatches in my interior hall. Even I could tell the difference.
Since that small entrance does not get direct sunlight, perhaps try swatches of your chosen color in both the Behr and BM Aura paints to see if you can tell any difference,
My suggestion is still to try a plaid with some of the colors in the fabric. I think it is something you haven’t tried in any of your rooms, completely unique, and just what that area needs against the black door.
Then in the bathroom I would paint the walls black or use a dark wallpaper with all of those colors in it-maybe birds.
I actually like the Citron, or one of the blue-greens.
Kristi your work is extraordinary! I love all your choices. For the wall I would choose a color not among the choices but the bisquey pink peachy color shown in the box at the end of your blog that explains who you are. …
I really like the darker pink and think white walls in the studio would be really refreshing with the pink cabinets. I have white walls with shades of yellow and orange in multiple paintings and the white gives my eye a place to rest in all the bright color.
Exactly this! The floral Fabric really pops against the darker colors. I also like the idea of white walls in the studio… there’s tons of beautiful color and pattern happening! I love the idea of white to set it all off! Regardless, it’s sure to be a stunner!!!
I like the idea of white walls for the studio because the background of the wallpaper and fabric is white. I think THAT is what is bothering me with all the color choices. I feel like everything would flow better if the white continues on the other spaces.
Hi! That darker coral color is similar to what I was thinking, but the other ones here are more pastel-hued. I was thinking more along jewel-toned teal or eggplant. Here is the mockup I couldn’t share on FB. Personally I like the teal or coral best! https://ibb.co/Dz7y5yw
I’m sure I missed an update somewhere. I thought Matt had a “no pink walls” rule. That’s why pink curtains and furniture was ok….because not walls.
Don’t get me wrong, I like the pink walls. I do.
iirc, Matt’s not a fan of pink in the main house, but in Kristi’s studio it’s her space so she can use pink if she wants.
I LOVE the darkest teal one! It looks beautiful with the fabric and the cabinet colour!
Love the color that’s darker than the cabinets. That would be my first choice.
Second would be the darkest blue-green. Those are the only two I like with the door being black. The palest colors, all of them, are a hard “No” for me.
These are my favorite s too.
My two favorites as well….
My two favorites as well.
Once you have the wall covering in place along with the painted cabinets you will know if you should paint the walls of the studio and what color to paint these walls in back entry. My thoughts are still paint back entry walls the same color as studio wall (whatever that ends up to be) so your drapes are the focal point.
My two favorites are the darker shade of the cabinet color and the darker teal.
Honestly, I think the only one that works is the darker pink. Everything else is fighting your fabric for attention and taking the focus away. If it were me, I would wait till the cabinets were installed and painted before choosing any other colors. All those pink cabinets will have a huge impact on how every other surface in the room looks.
I agree with Lori about installing and painting the cabinets first. It will save you money, time and aggravation and changing your mind later. I put the cart before the horse when I decorated our living room and it cost me a lot of money to redo.
First let me say how sorry I am the green didn’t work. It was also my favorite color as well. With this go round of colors to choose from my favorite this time hands down is the citron yellow, it looks great next to all the colors of the wallpaper and the cabinet colors. 2nd choice is the darkest pink. I also love that one. Whatever you decide on will be perfect I’m sure. I just love reading your blog and following your home because YOU aren’t afraid to use colors.
Very light blue-green
I vote blue-green/teals.
The darker pink really gets my attention. I like that best.
I do like the cabinet color on the walls. I also like the blush color that is in the picture of you and the floral is behind your pic.
I like the citron best, but that’s my personal taste and love for anything near chartreuse. After that, I like the darker cabinet color.
I think the cabinet color is the way to go!!!
And then here’s a little darker blue-green… My favorite since it’s the color I’m painting a good portion of the interior of my house. I skimmed through all the choices quickly several times and just couldn’t find a better combo with the shade of pink for the cabinets. Can’t wait to see what you pick!
Out of all those colors, I would either go with the first greenish yellow or the medium blue green.
I like the darker version of the cabinet color. It really looks good!! That’s my vote.
i love the medium blue green, the shade seems to be at the same level as the cabinet color (probably not the correct term). maybe wait to choose a final color or actually painting until the cabinets are painted? maybe it will bring clarity.
I am so surprised by how much I like the Citron color. My original vote was Tuberose or purple, which I like but that Citron is punchy, bright and fun! Gotta say how much fun these mockups are, so thank you for including us!!
Sidenote: Kristi, is that Citron the same as your work/ sowing tables in the studio?!
My favorite is painting the walls the same color as the cabinets.
I like the darkest of the pinks – it looks good with the fabric, it will tie in with the cabinets and it will flow well from the rest of your house. Bonus: the studio walls won’t have to be repainted!
Light blue green for the win all day long! I would even try a shade lighter and do this color on the studio walls too. Perfect!
Hmmmm… perhaps the mid tone blue green with it lightened or a lighter shade for the studio.
I agree with the person who said, do your cabinets first and then pick a color. The greens were nice, the pinks are nice…wait and see if the pink will end up feeling too much or just right. Another good suggestion was using the same color as the studio walls for continuation.
You gave me too many colors and I am in decision pralayas. I don’t understand is how you can even make a decision with all the choices. Good luck!
I like the darkest blue green.
The darker shade of the cabinet colour is my choice. I’m so glad the scallion didn’t work…I don’t care for it at all. Actually anything other than it…would be gorgeous. But I’m with you on the darker cabinet colour. 🙂
I know you will make a decision on a color you love and it will be beautiful. I really like the cabinet color or the greenish yellow. To my eye those both looked best with the colors on the fabric and the black doors. Best of luck to you on making a decision.
Ok. I also like the mid tone blue green as my third favorite.
Questions – aren’t you using the fabric you had made of your wallpaper design on the back french doors? I think you said you were so here’s my thoughts- I personally really like the darker color of the cabinets but I’m not sure if that would be too much Pink??? I like the greenish-yellow as it seems to be a nice neutral that would go with everthing but still give you color. My bottom of the list would be the darker blue gray or the light blue gray. If were my house I would probably go with the greenish yellow so it wouldn’t compete with the wallpaper or the curtains. JMHO
Another vote for the pink cabinet color but a shade darker. That color would be beautiful with both the curtains and black doors.
As I was scrolling through your pictures, the one that caught my eye was the darkest blue-green. All of a sudden the colours in the fabric seemed clearer and brighter.
The first teal is the only one that works with the black door in my mind. Pink is Victoria’s Secret, yellow is bumblebee, purple is Easter basket and orange is Orange is the New Black or team colors. Honestly, I feel like the black door is too heavy for that lovely floral and drags it down.
I vote for the same color as the cabinets. The balance between entry and cabinets seems great!
The “other purple” I was thinking of when I commented yesterday, is that more Purple-pinkish color of the flower that is visible at the bottom of the fabric where it’s resting on the floor in your pictures here.
I think that color, or a hue or tone of it, would looking smashing with the black doors and the color you’ve selected for your cabinets.👍🏻
I love all the mockups. I always have such a hard time visualizing things.
Not that my opinion matters in your house but I like the buttery yellow, citron, cabinet color (and darker!), and the blue-greens are all great. I know whatever color you end up choosing will look incredible!
I like the light blue green and white for walls.
I love the deeper pink Color. No to the orange/peach shade (think bathroom cabinet). I’m sure what you end up with will be beautiful!! Good luck!
I’d wait to decide after the cabinets are installed and painted. I think it would narrow down your options.
I really like the citron yellow, but I also like the lighter blue….. but whatever you pick, it will be perfect for you!!!
I think using the cabinet color (not lighter or darker versions of the cabinet color) will balance the overall room. The current green never tied into anything else in your studio and never felt cohesive. I feel like the other colors you sampled (the greens, citron, orange, purples, etc) will give a similar non-cohesive feel.
The darker than cabinet color! Raspberry? Sooo gorgeous!
Darker cabinet color or blue-green.
The darker tuberose and the darkest blue green both allow the colors in the fabric to pop. The lighter shades of yellow/green/citron/orange as well as the purple shades, do not. And the black door lets your eyes rest a bit.
My fav of the mock ups you have made here is the darker shade of the cabinet color. The one showing the very light blue green is also nice and makes the black doors pop. Those orange shades all look like Halloween with the black doors. I, myself, wouldn’t go for any of the orange shades.
White walls in your studio just somehow don’t seem like it would be “Kristi”. But, on the other hand I think when you pick out your shades and get everything painted, it will all work together and look perfect.
I loved the first blue teal colour.
My favorite is the color you are painting the cabinets. It goes well with the print and I think it will be a cohesive look and not imbalanced. I didn’t comment yesterday because I didn’t like any of the greens. So I’m happy you are going another direction.
I like the blue-greens the best. I just felt myself calm down when I got to those. I do wonder if a slightly greyer purple, a medium mauve might be good.
My vote is for the mid blue/green teal. Isn’t teal your signature color. It is represented in most rooms of your home. It would tie those many rooms together. I like the cabinet color too but would it be too much pink🤷🏼♀️.
I love either the cabinet color or just a little darker. No greens, yellows, oranges, or blue-greens at all. They dont go with any of the colors in your curtain material at all, IMHO.. That way you wouldnt even have to repaint your studio. Win win. I know it’ll be beautiful in the end though with whatever you decide.
How about using a grasscloth in the entryway to compliment the floor and the bath? It would add texture and sophistication to the space & allow it to have its own personality. Since you are using similar colors in a lot of rooms it would still blend with the bigger floral in the workroom. I’d lean toward a paler vs. saturated-colored grasscloth.
Of the 3 options in blue-green category, I like #2 & #3. I think either one would look very nice.
I love green but I agree that doesn’t work. I vote for a darker shade of the cabinet colors (and not just because I was one of the people who suggested that 🤣), but I also like the darkest blue-green.
I think a dark color in the back entry and then bright white walls in the studio will be a nice contrast. Kind of a moody, cozy back entrance leading you into the brightness of the studio.
Question if you use exactly the same color as the cabinets: will they actually look the same, since the lighting, both natural and artificial, will be different? If they look pretty close but not exactly the same, will that bug you? If so, you probably want to go lighter or darker so that it looks significantly/intentionally different.
I like the lighter blue green and even the darker blue green.
Well, now I don’t know. Not any yellow or gold walls for me. No light teals or blues either. Are you really going to be standing in the entry way at 6:00 pm? No, you will be working, entertaining quests or cooking supper. What does Matt think? I know he doesn’t care, but he still might have an opinion.
Go with Scallion green.
Whatever you decide to do in your house will be lovely. The Tuber Rose was pretty on the wall. Get the cabinets painted and in place then come back to this part of the project.
See I am as confused as you are!
Might just be my monitor but I didn’t feel any of these colors, I tried it out in Photoshop and liked this one fd7f71 and this one 654d71.
I vote for the same color as the cabinets.
I liked the lighter color of the cabinets, the Citron and the medium purple. The teals looked muddy.
This is tough because they could all look good! But I think the light blue-green is the best, followed by the goldish-green. I like a light color where there isn’t much natural light.
These are my favorite s too.
Dark pink in entry. White in the studio.
I like the darker pink and the lighter blue-green.
The first pink – the same color as the cabinets.
Before I scrolled through the photos the yellow-green in the wall paper jumped out at me – and it’s not a color I particularly care for. However, I feel it’s perfect with the paper AND plays nicely with the cabinet color.
I love the light blue-green but that’s because I always love that color.
Any number of your swatches and descriptions would work well with the fabric. Many of those colors seem way too dark for that hallway. Yes, you will be seeing that area at night, not just in the daytime.
But— I don’t think that is the primary factor to consider. Introducing a ‘match’ color to the fabric just adds one more color-piece of a patchwork quilt result without contributing to a cohesive look for the whole area.
Stand just inside the entrance of the studio and quietly observe what square footage will be visible overall. I think this hassle over the color choice is premature. If you get the studio cabinets installed and painted, next, decide on the studio wall color, then later, you will be in a much better position to choose the hallway color. Easy-peasy. You will ‘know’ with no guesswork. If you simply must follow your gut to decide now and get it done, I would say that some hue in the color family of the studio cabinets would work the best.
You also would know if the black doors work or not. If the hallway walls were a light version of the cabinets, I could see the black doors painted the cabinet color. Interesting but monochromatic. It would tie everything together. (The bathroom choices should figure in as well.)
Yes, this makes a lot of sense to me.
I painted my hallway Benjamin Moore Cedar Green and I love it–it never goes muddy. You might want to consider it.
Lots of choices!! The only one that really caught my was the darker shade of the cabinets. There are several that would look good, but I like this one the best. I know whatever you do is gonna look great. You have such a good eye for color!!!
Any of the blue/greens would have my vote. I was sure I’d like a pink but it just didn’t work for me. Can’t wait to see it done.
So many options! I love darker pink! The lighter pink is something I’d like in a girl’s rom. The greens are too bright/neon. I’m not a fan of the yellows or oranges with Tuberose. The lavenders are too bright/crisp. I like all of the blue-greens, especially the darker two. I also like the Vintage purple. The darker pink, two darker blue-greens and Vintage purple look rich and pair well with the fabric, Tuberose and the black door.
Nothing works for me I guess because I don’t like the color for the cabinets. Works for the walls but something else for the cabinets.
Round 2 back hall way:
1. Medium dark purple
2. Same color as cabinets (pink)
3. Darkest of the oranges
There’s something about any of the yellows/citron that just doesn’t sit well with me.
Looking forward to your fabulous end result.
I’m in the pale yellow camp. Yellow is a happy color and non competing, mostly.
I really like the light blue-green. It’s beaceful and calming. But what about wallpapering the entry?
Oh big yes to the shade darker than the cabinet color! It goes really well with the black doors, too.
I’ll still stick with the cabinet color. I sort of like the 1st blue, but I still think bringing the cabinet color into that area creates continuity of the two spaces.
What about using your favorite color and painting not just the walls but also the doors and woodwork in the space (maybe the ceiling too). Rooms all in one color just seem so elegant to me especially those painted in the more saturated colors you seem to love😊
The one that seems to sing IMO was the darker shade of the cabinet color. Best of luck as you choose.
Kristi,
I laughed out loud at the discoverey with the greens I natural light. I have experienced that when painting my walls in the North and South facing rooms. Great decision for switching it up with a better choice in color.
My pick is the darker of the first two, but it is close to the second choice. The reason I like the first one that is a dark pink is the vibrancy of the colors in the wallpaper. Now the bit lighter one works as well but not as powerful as the first. I would not have guessed it could change the boldness floral but to my dismay it did.
You always make great color choices and know you will pick the paint that calls your name and vision.
I was scrolling thought thinking … nope, nope, nope, nope and then I got to the blue-green and thought yep, yep, yep. I like them all, my preference would be the middle one first with the last one next and the first one last. But I like this color. After the blue-greens I went back to nope, nope, nope. Good luck with your decision.
Ah, I left a reply on the previous post, didn’t even see this one! lol So I’m copying my reply here – it seems like you are considering what I was (completely abstractly) thinking… here it is (sorry!)
Hmmm, I’m feeling this is the wrong direction, but can’t exactly put my finger on why… Could it be that those colours are too saturated to act as a background (to either the doors, the curtains, or the cabinets – which yes, I know are on the other side of the room, but still, they should be stealing the show)? Or something else? Not sure. What colour will the walls in the main area be? And maybe they should be the same colour for the sake of cohesiveness? (I mean, if you have a background colour then the wallpaper being the centerpiece, with the curtains being right across and mirroring that situation…) Not sure what the answer is, sort of thinking “aloud” here… might be some things to consider?
Definitely one of the teals would be my top choice, then the greenish yellow, and last would be a shade of the cabinet color. I know you’d be happy with one of the teals bc of the rest of your house but I can’t wait to see what you choose.
My vote is for greenish yellow keeping with a nature/floral vibe. Doesn’t compete with floral. I would have to do white doors and walls in studuo.
I don’t care for any of them and I think my problem is three fold.
1. Is tuberose really the pinkish color in the wallpaper? It appears as a dusty pink in the back entry photos and I couldn’t find a picture of the new wallpaper and the paint chip together in older posts.
2. In these photos, the pinks I see in the flowers in your wallpaper closeups look more peach toned and that’s throwing me off.
3. I don’t like the black door with any of them. It’s too harsh.
Sorry
The darker teal is my favorite or the darker shade of cabinet color. That’s my vote. Having the exact same shade as the cabinet color would be too matchy-matchy.
whats wrong with matching the berries?
Of all your mock-ups Kristi …. the darker cabinet colour is the stand-out for me.
I originally loved the velvet colour; but only if you changed the colour of the door to maybe a soft green from the fabric. and I know you really don’t want to do that.
The two that stood out to me were the darkest yellow golden colour, and the lightest blue-green-grey. But I tried to paint my bedroom walls a deep golden yellow, and it was AWFUL in those amounts, so u vote for the blue-green-grey!
WOW – So glad you discovered that color wasn’t good later in the day, before painting. I think I like that darker than the cabinet color now. Gosh, I guess I’m glad I have to stay neutral right now as we will be selling our house next year. 🤣 It is hard sometimes. I have to repaint my pretty powder room beige! UGH.
I’m not of fan of most of those, but would like to throw this deeper purple into the mix. The color was taken directly from the fabric and seems to have the same deeper tone value as the cabinet color. Not an Easter egg color. https://ibb.co/CvsmFZ0
I suggest you use the cabinet color – which you know will work. Then once the studio is complete, you can reevaluate and re-paint “if” needed. LOL but knowing you, you will 100% repaint to something better/perfect!
The darkest teal color speaks to my SOUL… I LOVE IT.
Also – I just realized how good the teals go with the gray in the floor.
For me- the balance of the cabinet colour works best…especially at a time when you are mentally processing quite a bit. I think by painting the walls the same colour as the cabinets, you are giving yourself a visually strong connection and allowing the glory of the pattern in the mural and fabric to “speak”.
Hey Kristi, I’m not a fan of pink in ank shade but i love the darkest pink on you post im just afraid it will fight with you studio cabinet color. My favorite is the green gold. Thats the color i picked out of you fabric and its beautiful with the black doors. Yhat was my first choice enen though i dont care for most greens.
As an artist l never let my personal favorites color influence what color i need in a painting. Interested to see final decision.
I’m being thrown off by the studio wall color. The whole thing isn’t flowing for me with that color. I feel if the walls were white or maybe even Classic Gray, then the back entry could be tied in better with another color. In my head, if you do a color in the foyer that is different than the cabinets or existing studio walls, it’s just chaotic and too much. But I do know you make the right choice in the end
Blue/green and somewhere between your 2nd and 3rd mockup. The 2nd one is just a little light and I know that you go to darker more saturated hues but I feel the 3rd one is too dark maybe?
I usually don’t comment as it’s none of my concern, I just like watching and learning. As an artist I have heard over and over again, you don’t paint to match the couch. Your are trying to match fabric. How about painting walls to enhance room!!! The pink walls reminded me of Pepto Bismo, yuk! Good luck Kristi but you are making this harder than it should be.
I still like the original green you already have on walls as it draws your eye around the room instead look here, no look there, no look here
Have fun with YOUR room, what ever makes you happy
Any color you pick will be gorgeous! My advise would be to take a very quick visual scan of where you are now across your whole house. Would introducing greens, yellow or oranges flow?? It seems like staying in the rose, blue, teal, purple family would fit nor seemlessly with the color palette
I like the dark pink that is a little darker than the cupboards
Right now your entry color choices are so wide that you could still be spinning your wheels in August. Back off from the entry and work on the studio until it’s finished, then return to the entry. I think you’ll have more clarity once you have a finished studio to bounce things off of.
I love the darkest pink!
Have you considered painting the doors the same color as the cabinets and then figuring out a wall color? I think that would offset really nicely and create a nice color pop. The black doors are really throwing me off. They just don’t seem to go with the happy colors in the fabric.
I love the darker shade than the cabinets or the darker teal color. Can’t wait to see what you choose!
Leave the back entry for now. When you finish the wall paper and the cabinets. That might help you narrow down your choices. Example may be too much pink.
Surprised myself and like the citron best.
Me too Barb. Just the right complement.
I like the vintage velvet for the walls and one of the greens for the door.
The darkest teal choice has my vote.
Kristi,
I do exactly the same thing when I am trying to choose a colour. I have to get it just right in all lights. There are two that stand out to me. My absolute favourite is the citrus. It matches the leaves in the fabric perfectly, it looks gorgeous with the pink, pink and green a match made in heaven, and it is light and makes the black door stand out. Being lighter in colour it complements rather than competes with the gorgeous fabric and knowing you some lovely artwork in black frames using some of the other colours from the fabric would bring all the elements together. My opinion only. I know whatever you decide will be amazing and put a smile on your face and gladden you heart when you walk through the door into your workroom. Your heart will tell you which one is right for you.
I like the first light blue-green
I gasped out loud at the deeper cabinet shade. Yellows do not say “Kristi” to me at ALL. And I’d love to see something different from your typical blues/greens. And I like the idea of a deep pink kinda running throughout the house–living room drapes, the music room seating, studio cabinets, entry walls.
Is another wallpaper an option there? Similar colors, smaller pattern. Not necessarily a large floral? Stripes?
I love the first one or the third one that you commented you really love. I think the more saturated colors look better. The oranges and yellows are a no for me. What a large selection you have to choose from!
