Cyberbully and Fraud: Jonathon G. Wells, Owner/Designer at Gregory Jordan Interiors
As promised, I’m going to tell you the whole story, from beginning to end, about the biggest bully I’ve ever encountered in my 17 years of blogging — Jonathon G. Wells, owner and designer at Gregory Jordan Interiors in the Chicago area. This is going to be the longest blog post I’ve ever written because I’m going to show you everything — every comment, every email, every text, every threat, every insult. Everything. Not only do I have to share every detail to establish a pattern of behavior on his part, but also to protect myself lest I be accused of editing out information to tell a one-sided story. I have no interest in that. So this is long. Really long. If you’re not interested, I understand. Please just skip this post and come back on Monday for the decorating stuff.
I’ve wanted to write this post for two weeks now, but I stopped myself. I don’t know why, exactly. But then, about four days ago, I found that not only is this guy an unhinged lunatic (in my opinion) who believes he should be able to behave in the most egregious way online with complete impunity, but he’s also a total fraud. And once I found that out, I was like a dog with a bone. For my own safety and for the good of the public, everyone needs to know exactly who Jonathon G Wells of Gregory Jordan Interiors truly is.
ETA: I know that there will be many who say, “Kristi, why are you doing this? You’re just going to anger him more! You need to just ignore him and move on!” That mindset is foreign to me. When I found out that this guy isn’t only a bully, but is also a fraud, my first instinct was to speak out to protect others. The idea of slinking away and hiding in a corner to protect myself while other people unwittingly interact with this person, or worse, hire him and invite him into their homes without knowing the kind of person he is, again, is completely foreign to me. When you see and encounter a bully and a fraud, you speak out to warn others. That is the loving and kind thing to do, especially when that person has somehow been able to get every single 1-star Yelp review removed from his Yelp page. If this man were operating a business in your city, you would want to know. And if you were looking for someone to hire for a job inside your home, and the person you were looking to hire had done this to someone, and on top of that, he was a fraud, you would hope that that information would be readily available before hiring him. Imagine unwittingly hiring this person and bringing him into your home because others were too afraid to speak out and were only acting in their own self-interest and keeping quiet so as to not anger the bully and the fraud. Again, that’s foreign to my mindset. And that’s why I’ve written this post.
I also think this post is kind of protective to myself, though. If something nefarious were to happen to me, to Matt, to my animals, to our home, or to one of our loved ones, now thousands of people would know the first person to look for. Had I, in my fear and desire to not anger and upset the bully and fraud, simply kept quiet and never uttered his name, and then something nefarious happened, no one would suspect a crazy person several states away from my central Texas home. So I personally believe that this is a self-protective thing to do as well. But self-protection wasn’t my first instinct. Warning others was my first instinct.
So let me start at the beginning. First of all, my Addicted 2 Decorating Facebook page has 583K likes and 569K followers. It is a public Facebook page with a lot of followers, so there is no “privacy” when it comes to any comments published on my page.
As I show you screenshots of all of Jonathon Wells’ comments on my Facebook page, you’ll notice that some of them are grayed out. That’s because I have a profanity filter turned on, so any comments with profanity are automatically set to “Hidden by This Page”.
But I want to make it very clear that even though some of his comment were hidden, he didn’t know that they were hidden. From his view, his comments were displayed publicly, and he wouldn’t have received any kind of notice that his comment was being hidden. So as far as he knew, he was still making all of the grayed out comments publicly, using his real name, and using an account that prominently displayed his business name.
When you hide a comment from a post on your Page:
- The comment will still be visible to the person who wrote it and their friends. This can help prevent more unwanted comments.
- The comment will be hidden for everyone else.
And from Agorapulse:
Hiding the Facebook comment will keep it hidden from everyone except that person and their friends. They won’t know that the comment is hidden, so you can avoid potential fallout.
So again, I want to stress that even though some of these comments are grayed out and show “Hidden by This Page” from my Facebook page, I was still able to see all of them, and Jonathon Wells and his friends could still see them. And as far as he knew, all of his comments were being made publicly. So in absolutely no way could these be considered “private” comments.
I also want to cover some important points. First, Jonathon Wells has stated repeatedly that all he did was comment “dust” and then I flew off the handle. (That’s not an exact quote. You’ll see exactly how he stated in in these comments, but that’s the general idea.) So we’ll see if the record of facts backs up his claim.
Jonathon Wells also stated several times that I stalked him “vigorously”. I mean…LOL. Again, we’ll see if the evidence bears that out.
He also stated that I needed to show my true self to my followers and show them the threats that I sent to him. Well, I have never once sent him anything directly. One hundred percent of my communication with him has been on my Facebook page and on my blog. However, his communication to me has been via Facebook, my blog, email, and direct text messages to my personal cell phone.
Did I make threats to him? I absolutely did, and I make no apologies for it. And I did so publicly, on my blog, for the whole world to see. Nothing I have said to this insane lunatic (my opinion, of course) has been in private. So let’s get started.
Here’s the post where it all started.
And you’ll notice that it starts off fairly innocuously. He made a comment with an eyeroll emoji, and I responded in kind with the same eyeroll emoji. Then he got a little snarky. I was curious to see who this snarky guy was, so I clicked over to his Facebook page to see what information he shares PUBLICLY, and right there at the top (when viewing on my iPhone), I noticed he says, “❤️I Choose Happiness & Love❤️”. Right. You’ll see just how much happiness and love this guy spreads around.
So just to be clear, he believes that a screenshot of the information he PUBLICLY displays on his page is “harassment” worthy of reporting to Facebook. Ummm…okay. And I’m a dumb twat because I don’t comprehend that a screenshot of his PUBLIC information from a page where he has 5K followers is “harassment.” And because Carolyn found my response to Jonathon to be funny, she was in his line of fire as well.
This next comment is out of order, but I just want to show that any time you use Facebook on a laptop or desktop computer, and you happen to roll your cursor over a person’s name (which generally happens unintentionally and is one of the most irritating features of Facebook’s desktop version), an information box pops up. Every single Facebook user has complete control over what information is shared in this box, and what information is shared publicly on their page.
So every time any of the 3 billion Facebook users (or 569K followers of my page) happen to roll their cursor over Jonathon G Wells’ name, this is what they’ll see.
Again, that is what HE has chosen to make PUBLIC. And you don’t even have to click over to his Facebook page to get that info. He chose it, and he made it public. So as I was scrolling down the page, my cursor happened to roll over his name, and that business name caught my eye, for obvious reasons. My critic is an interior designer! Naturally, that piqued my curiosity, and a quick Google search of his name and business name led me directly to his Houzz account where I saw some very interesting light fixtures in his portfolio pictures. That led to the following exchange.
Well, that made him mad. Again, keep in mind that he has claimed several times that all he did was mention “dust” and I flew off the handle. See if that’s what you see happening here.
That’s a 5K chandelier for a celebrity client. Remember that.
Then he continued to comment on that post…
And he finished up on this post with this comment. I have no idea what photo he’s talking about.
At some point during the previous exchange, which happened over the course of several hours, he found this post.
And he had some feedback on my bathroom remodel as well…
Next, he moved on to this post…
And he had more feedback for me…
Again, I want you to remember his claims. He’s won awards, been published, and has a retinue of celebrity clients. Just hold this in your mind as we continue.
Next, he moved on to this post…
He left this comment on that post on June 4th at 11:20am. The times of his comments will start becoming more relevant as we move forward.
This is the blog post where I included two screenshots of Jonathon Wells’ PUBLIC comments from my Facebook page. You can read that post here: She Didn’t Hurt My Feelings. She Made Me Angry. Here’s Why…
Well, he didn’t appreciate screenshots of his PUBLIC comments that he had made on a Facebook page with over 500K followers being included in that post, but it didn’t stop him from making more. This was his response on that post.
But this time, I wasn’t his only target. He was angry at everyone who had a not-so-glowing opinion of him. Here’s his claim that I stalked him “vigorously”. 🤣🤣 If by “stalking” he means that I went to the website of the business that he PUBICLY advertises…well…I guess I don’t really understand what “stalking” is.
I included the following comment, even though he didn’t respond to this one, just to show that literally everyone can see his “happiness & love” nonsense. Why? BECAUSE IT’S PUBLIC. This is a very basic concept he can’t seem to understand.
But he did respond to other people.
Next, he decided to comment on this post…
This comment was made on June 3rd at 7:02pm. And make no mistake. This was intended as a threat. He thought he was about to dox me, and he tried. Three times. And failed.
This is the first post where he tried to dox me…
By this time, Facebook was automatically hiding all of his comments. But remember what I said at the top of this post. He can’t tell that his comments are hidden. But notice the, “Shall I continue?” That’s another threat. These two comments were posted on June 4th at 9:17am and 11:26am. And you’ll notice that he tried to publish my phone number publicly. But again, they were automatically hidden. And no, I didn’t go to Dallas Babtist University. But I DID go to Dallas Baptist University, which I freely share on my bio page of this blog. That address? That’s not mine…LOL.
Next, he moved on to this post…
And he left this comment on June 4th at 11:40am.
So after spending all that time on my Facebook page and literally trying to dox me on my own Facebook page, then he sends me this legal threat on that same day, June 4th, at 4:40pm. I didn’t open it because I don’t open PDFs from crazy people or from people I don’t know.
But he wanted to be really sure I got his stupid legal threat, so he headed back to my Facebook page to this post…
And at 8:21pm on June 4th, he posted this. Once again, trying to dox me. But once again, Facebook’s filters had my back and hid his stupid legal threat.
But he wasn’t done. When I hadn’t responded to his legal threat by 8:43 the next morning, he headed to my blog and left this comment on the blog post where I shared the two screenshots of his PUBLIC comments on MY public Facebook page. And once again, he tried to dox me. But I blog on WordPress, and I have the ability to edit comments. So I removed my phone number from his comment, left in that address because…why not? And then I approved his comment so that it showed on my blog post.

[email protected]Ms. Lanauer,
I write to you under the advice of legal counsel to demand the immediate removal of all content, including but not limited to your “blog” post, that makes reference to me, my company, or my business.Additionally, you are hereby directed to remove any and all defamatory or otherwise disparaging statements published on social media platforms or any other medium that pertain to me or my business. Furthermore, you are instructed to issue clear and unequivocal communication to any individuals who, as a result of your posts, have engaged in harassing behavior toward me, my business, or my business website, demanding that such harassment cease immediately.
Should you fail to comply with the demands outlined herein, please be advised that I reserve all rights to pursue immediate legal action, including but not limited to the initiation of litigation, to protect my reputation and the interests of my business.
This correspondence serves as formal notice of my intent to enforce my rights to the fullest extent permitted by law should noncompliance persist.
Jonathon G. Wells
Founder / Designer
Gregory Jordan Interiors
This was my immediate response to him…
Kristi Linauer says:
I have screenshots of every single one of your comments that YOU made to ME on MY very public Facebook page. And now you’re leaving a PUBLIC comment on my very PUBLIC blog post using and linked to your business name. I didn’t tell anyone to harass you, but ALL OF YOUR BEHAVIOR IS PUBLIC and you’ve done so UNDER YOUR BUSINESS NAME and using accounts that are PUBLICLY ATTACHED TO YOUR BUSINESS NAME.
I did make a couple of edits to my blog post. First, I added a statement urging people not to contact him unless they want to hire him to design their homes. Because who wouldn’t want to hire Jonathon G. Wells of Gregory Jordan Interiors, right? He seems so lovely.
Also, I removed the mention of his actual name and business name from the text of my blog post, but then I added a screenshot showing how readily available that information is because, again, he chose to make it publicly available. And then I followed up with this. This is the “threat” he references several times in his later comments. He says that I sent it to him, but I didn’t. I posted it publicly on my blog in response to his comment. You’ll notice that my “threat” is conditional. I made that very obvious. Basically, how I proceed was up to him. The ball was in his court.
Kristi Linauer says:
I’ve edited my post all I’m going to, and I will absolutely not take it down since it contains ONLY factual information.
For the record, the first thing a defamation case requires is “proof of a false statement.” Good luck with that. I have screenshots of every single one of your comments on my Facebook page.
FYI, a sincere apology to me for acting like a complete ass would have been a lot more effective.
But since YOU are the one who came to MY very public page with over half a million followers, made disparaging comment after disparaging comment, and did so under a Facebook account which very PUBLICLY displayed your business name…
IF YOU PROCEED with legal action, I will have no other option than to go to every single media outlet I can find in Chicago and see if they are interested in running a story about a man — a Chicago business owner — who thinks it’s okay to go around calling women “fat ugly cows” and “stupid whores” and “cunts” under an account linked to his business name, and then threatens to sue when screenshots of his evil online behavior are shared. In this day of men being cancelled for lesser behavior towards women, do you really want to play this game?
I will also set up a website called “thehorriblemrwells.com” or something to that effect, and I will share every FACTUAL detail of what has transpired, including screenshots of your bullying comments, your legal threat against me that you posted here on my PUBLIC blog, any legal action you try to take, etc. And then I will proceed to purchase Super Chats, Rumble Rants, etc., on every single HUGE live podcast in America, left, right, and center, with the name/link to that website that they will read out LIVE to their huge audiences.
I’m not threatened by you, and you picked a fight with the wrong blogger.
So let me end the way I began. A SINCERE APOLOGY would have gone a lot further (not only to me, but also to my readers — people are generally VERY impressed with sincere apologies) than your legal threats. And now, your apology needs to be PUBLIC, the very same way your harassment, bullying, and disparagement of me was PUBLIC and very clearly intended to bring doubt to my readers (and over half a million FB followers) regarding the quality of MY work.
And then I followed up with this. So let’s just say that Mr. Jonathon Wells of Gregory Jordan Interiors had fair warning.
Kristi Linauer says:
Let me also add that IF YOU CONTACT ME AGAIN (or if anyone representing you contacts me)…
I, as the victim of your online bullying, will go directly to your Yelp page, your Google reviews, and anywhere else I can find to leave public reviews, and I will post…
EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. of the comments you left on my PUBLIC Facebook page. You and I both know that there were a whole lot more than just the two I posted here. And I have screenshots of ALL of them. I will share them far and wide….ALL of them.
DO NOT CONTACT ME AGAIN.
Two days later, I made one more comment to him publicly on my blog. I couldn’t resist. On June 7th, I had googled his name and business name, and I was shocked to see that my blog post where I shared the two screenshots was #3 in the organic search results.
This will only make sense to those of you who understand SEO (search engine optimization), but it is delicious, so I’m going to share. In that blog post, I had removed every mention of his name and business name from the text of the post within 24 hours. And on the screenshots of his comments, which are just pictures, I didn’t add any “alt” text. In other words, from what I posted in that blog post, Google’s bots had absolutely no way of knowing that my blog post had anything to do with Jonathon G. Wells of Gregory Jordan Interiors.
So why was that blog post ranking #3 in Google’s organic search results for his name and business name? BECAUSE OF HIS COMMENT THAT HE LEFT!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣HE is the reason that post showed up in search results. His comment, where he tried to dox me, and where he wrote his entire name and business name, is what Google’s bots crawled to put that post on the first page of search results. Oh my gosh, I laughed SO FREAKING HARD when I saw that. And I just couldn’t help myself, so I responded one more time with this…
Kristi Linauer says:
FYI, Because you chose to comment on my PUBLIC blog and leave your entire name and your business name, this blog post is now the #3 result in Google organic search results when someone searches your name and business name. It’s YOUR comment that Google crawled. The third result, right after your website, your Houzz account, and then this blog post.
That’s karma, you idiot.
And that comment was literally my last communication to Jonathon G. Wells. But Jonathon wasn’t finished.
Now let me just state for the record, from here on out, the reason I didn’t block Jonathon from my Facebook page at this point is because he had threatened legal action against me. And I thought that if I blocked him, all of his comments would disappear. With the threat of legal action, there was no way I was going to help him cover up his egregious online behavior. So I didn’t block him. And I knew he wouldn’t be able to stay away, so any further comments would just establish an ongoing pattern of harassment.
Not one single time did I ever communicate to Jonathon Wells on any format other than my Facebook page or blog. All of my communications to him were public. I never once emailed him (or responded to emails). I never once went to HIS Facebook page and commented. And even as tempting as it was to comment, I exerted an immense amount of self-control and didn’t leave a negative review on Google reviews or Yelp. I didn’t contact him via phone. I didn’t text him. I didn’t go to his business website and leave comments or send messages. I didn’t send smoke signals. Nothing. Every single message from me to him was on my public Facebook page or my public blog post. But good ‘ole Jonathon chose a different path.
He disappeared for a couple of day, and then showed back up on my Facebook page. First up, this post…
Where he left me this sweet message…
Next up, this post…
Where he had some very helpful feedback for me…
And then there’s this post…
With this encouraging message…
And next…
With this comment…
And then there’s this…
With this constructive criticism…
And then there’s this post about my closet…
He seems to be a big fan…
In fact, he likes my closet so much that when I reposted it in the evening…
He had to comment again. And again. I mean, he really loves my closet. Not even my most ardent fans will leave three comments on the same post.
And then there’s this post…
And this is where he starts threatening my income. I’m not quite sure what he’s reporting, but he sure seems to be busy reporting something!
And he’s really serious about that whole Amazon thing because he even sent this to my email. At least he made it short and sweet. There’s nothing I hate more than long, drawn out emails.
But then he headed back to the previous Facebook post about the pantry to leave these lovely messages.
Then he had some input on this post…
And on June 14th at 9:40pm, Jonathon Wells had this feedback for me.
But he still wasn’t done! Next up is this post…
And I just want to make sure y’all undestand that at no point during any of this did Jonathon Wells, owner/designer at Gregory Jordan Interiors, think it might be a bad idea to leave comments like this using an account that prominently displays his entire name and business name. Not once. At this point, a rational person may have thought that this kind of behavior on an account that prominently displays “Owner/Designer at Gregory Jordan Interiors” might be a bad idea. But not Jonathon! He evidently thought this was a great marketing tactic!
But here’s a closer look at the comments he left on that post. And I beg of you…I BEG OF YOU…to read this one closely and just try not to laugh. I dare you.
Oh my gosh, there’s so much stupidity rolled up in one single comment. First of all, at this point, I had not communicated to him in seven days, but he had been emailing me and trolling my Facebook page on a regular basis. And yet, he claims that a restraining order FOR ME is imminent. 🤣
But as funny as that is, I laughed so hard I had tears streaming down my face that this idiot (my opinion) has NO CLUE what a class action lawsuit is! He literally thinks a class action lawsuit is HIM suing me and any of my followers who comment. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh my gosh, what I wouldn’t give to have a hidden video of him walking into an attorney’s office and saying that he wants to file a class action lawsuit against a blogger and all of her readers/commenters. Can you even imagine the look on that attorney’s face?! I seriously can’t stop laughing. 🤣 The guy is an utter and complete moron (in my opinion, of course).
Anyway, after that, he evidently wasn’t satisfied with his first comment on this post…
So he decided to see if he could one up himself. Well done, Jonathon G. Wells. Well done. You really outdid yourself this time.
And then he had to go back to this one to respond to someone’s comment…
Again, he’s talking about the conditional threat that I made to him on my PUBLIC blog post. We’ve already established that they guy’s a moron (in my opinion), so he can’t distinguish between a public blog comment and a message sent to him. Someone’s not playing with a full deck.
But this is when Jonathon G. Wells crossed a HUGE RED LINE. On Saturday, June 14th, he started sending text messages directly to me on my personal cell phone. This is some insane, maniacal behavior right here (in my opinion). I mean, I was absolutely stunned that he would have the nerve to do this. And I gave him the courtesy of blacking out his phone number, although I will say that this eliminated ALL doubt that this person texting me is the same Jonathon G. Wells that owns the website of Gregory Jordan Interiors.
So just a few points about these text messages, if I may.
First, again with the restraining order. 🤣
Second, again with the class action lawsuit against me and all of my commenters. 🤣🤣
Third, after all of the above, he claims that his business is private. I mean…I have no words. The elevator does not go all the way to the top with this one (in my opinion).
Fourth, after literally being on my Facebook page that very day, he thinks it’s my responsibility to clean up his mess by blocking him so that his comments disappear. WHAT? I didn’t make the mess, buddy. I’m not going to clean it up for you.
Fifth, I do not know Heather S. But good luck with your class action lawsuit, Jonathon.
Sixth, I’m so, so, so nervous that Matt is going to get fired from his job as a wheelchair testing technician. 🤣🤣🤣 Ummmm…yeah. Matt put that on his Facebook page (that he hasn’t accessed in two years) AS A JOKE. Matt doesn’t work. He’s not able to.
But after texting me directly to my personal phone number, he still wasn’t finished for the evening. He decided to head over to my blog and leave a response to my last comment seven days before. I did NOT approve this message, so it doesn’t show up on the blog. But it’s him, for sure. Same IP address as his previous comment. (I blacked out all of that code because I honestly don’t know what it is. For all I know, it could be something that would help a hacker access the admin side of my blog, so just to be safe, I redacted it. It’s not important to the context of this story.)
And we finally get to the last post. He went absolutely insane on this one (in my opinion), so after this, I had to block him. He not only harassed me, but he harassed just about every other commenter on this post. There are so many comments from him that I didn’t even try to put them in sequential order.
And once again, I just want to show that after all this time, over almost a month, he still has his business name prominently and publicly displayed under his full name. It’s really astounding to me that he doesn’t seem to understand that his business isn’t “private”. He’s publicly advertising it. But again, the bulb is a little dim with this one (in my opinion).
So here we go. This is the last ride for this carnival.
BE SURE TO READ THIS NEXT ONE ALL THE WAY TO THE END, because I guess he has evidence that I could be a drug dealer or something…but definitely not a prostitute…
I mean, that long comment above sounds like the ramblings of an asylum escapee (in my opinion).
Now this is a VERY important detail that you can’t miss. Jonathon Wells claims that I stalked him “vigorously” by reading the popup box that displays when my cursor rolls over his name. I guess to avoid this “stalking” I should have averted my eyes from the information he chooses to publicly display. BUT ANYWAY. Read that last comment just above one more time. How does he know that she’s an artist? How does he know the name of her business? THE VERY SAME WAY I KNOW THE NAME OF HIS BUSINESS!!!!! Because it’s in the little box that pops up when you roll your cursor over her name! So if I’m “stalking” him “vigorously” by reading that information that he chose to publicly display, then he’s “stalking” her the very same way.
But let’s continue…
I’m pretty sure I have several thousand witnesses who can vouch for the FACT that, in my previous post where I shared two screenshots, I never once directed people to “do all sorts of nastiness”. I didn’t direct people to do or say anything to him in response to his egregious online behavior towards me. But this behavior that he has been doing publicly from the start angers people, and yet he believes he should be able to act with impunity.
For the record, I have no idea where I’ve ever claimed to be a “public figure.” What I DID say is that my Facebook page is public. And his information is public. And his comments are public. But again, Jonathon seems to be twelve cans short of a six pack (in my opinion). There’s more…
Now it’s not just me getting a restraining order. Matt, who hasn’t even been online in about 18 months, is getting one as well. 🤣🤣🤣 And once again, all of my communications to him have been public and can all be found on Facebook and my blog. There have been no other methods of communication from me to him, and when he wrote that just above, it had been nine days since my last comment to him on my blog, which was my last communication to him. Jonathon G. Wells is about as sharp as a marble (in my opinion). Let’s continue…
Illegal? Again, it’s not illegal to post screenshots of public comments (that were directed at me) made on a public page. If he didn’t want them to be pubic, he shouldn’t have made those comments on a public Facebook page with over 500K followers. I mean, if he had any sense, he wouldn’t have made them at all using an account prominently displaying his name and business name. There’s more…
Please re-read that previous comment. This will be important for the next section of this post. He retired a decade ago. He only does one project a year and they’re typically over 1mm per project. What were his previous claims? Famous clients and such? Remember that. Let’s continue…
Okay, those are all of the comments on Facebook. I finally blocked him. He also left comments all over my Instagram posts, but I won’t even go into those. They were all just more of the same.
If you’ll remember, I didn’t want to block him because he had threatened legal action. But two things happened. Over the course of all of this, I realized more and more what an idiot Jonathon is (in my opinion). I mean, threatening a class action lawsuit against me and my commenters over and over again? Threatening a restraining order over and over again even though I ceased communicating to him two weeks ago now? I mean, I think there was a little too much chlorine in Jonathon’s gene pool (in my opinion).
But then something else happened. And it is unreal. So let’s get to Part 2:
Meet Jonathon G. Wells, the complete fraud of an interior designer
Truth is an absolute defense to claims of defamation. So when I say that Jonathon G Wells of Gregory Jordan Interiors is a fraud, you better believe I come with receipts.
Here’s the funny thing about this. On that last Facebook post where Jonathon was acting like a crazed lunatic (in my opinion), someone commented to him and said something like, “I would highly suggest that you stop or things are going to get much worse for you.”
He should have listened. Because for weeks now, I’ve been completely oblivious to this until one person made one comment that piqued my curiosity. Someone made a comment (which I can’t find now) that said something like, “There’s something strange about his portfolio on his business website. It’s like those are random pictures taken from paint company websites or something like that.”
As soon as I read that, it clicked in my head, too. This is a man who claims to have 26 years in the industry. He claims to have rich clients, famous clients, million dollar projects each year, and on and on. And yet, his website is literally one page. There are no tabs to go to different pages on the website. It’s one page.
And what about his portfolio on his website? It’s just sixteen snapshots of random, disparate rooms of widely varying styles. There are no project pictures, meaning, several pictures of one completed project where you can see the completed project from various angles and see the various details.
Here’s what a real interior designer’s website look like. This is the website of interior designer Ashley Goforth. (And you’ll soon understand why I’m using her as an example.) When you click on her “projects” page, you see twelve of her (presumably most recent) projects. When you hover over each one, you can see the name of each project.
And when you click on each one, it goes to a page showing lots of different pictures of that particular project.
That’s how real interior designers, and especially interior designers with years and years of experience, show their work.
So why does Jonathon G. Wells of Gregory Jordan Interiors, with his 26 years of industry expertise, only have a one-page website with 16 random pictures on it? BECAUSE THEY’RE NOT HIS!!!
Oh my gosh, y’all!!!! What is one of my biggest pet peeves in the entire world? FRAUDS WHO STEAL OTHER PEOPLE’S PICTURES and try to pass them off as their own!!! And this guy…THIS GUY…who has been criticizing me and giving me grief for almost a month now doesn’t even have any current work of his own to show, so he has to steal other people’s pictures and put them in a section on his website under the heading “Our creative interior design portfolio”!!
And yes. I have receipts. I went to his website and just started doing Google image searches.
First, I searched this one, and it led me to an Instagram account by Maggie York.
I couldn’t find that exact picture with those exact flowers, but it was obvious from her pictures that this was her house. So I messaged her…
That’s one confirmed stolen, so how about this one? Well, a search for this image leads you to the Harrod’s website where they are selling this Sferra Giza 45 Super King Duvet Cover.
This one? Well, this is the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh, Scotland.
And a quick search for who designed the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh, Scotland shows who it was…and who it wasn’t.
So let’s move on to this one. This beautiful dining room is the work of the very talented and aforementioned Ashley Goforth, as thoroughly documented by the late Joni Webb on her still-accessible blog Cote de Texas.
I found this next picture on a magazine cover as well as the website of Spitzmiller & Norris, with the designer on the project listed as Susan Kasler. I was a little confused because I know they work with Suzanne Kasler, and I thought it was a slim chance that they’d also work with someone named Susan Kasler.
So I messaged them to double check.
And I got this response:
My gosh. This idiot (in my opinion) stole the work of SUZANNE KASLER and put it in his portfolio! SUZANNE KASLER!!! Only one of the most well-known interior designers in America! I mean, if you’re going to steal pictures, don’t steal them from one of the most famous and most published interior designers in the country!
This next one I found on some website that I can’t even read.
This next one also belongs to Suzanne Kasler. I mean… *sigh*. I don’t even know what to say.
I found this next one on all kinds of websites, including Lowe’s. But it’s a stock photo, available at Shutterstock.
I found this one on about three websites like this one, all promoting a line of lighting from Visual Comfort.
This bathroom below was designed by Casa Vilora Interiors by Veronica Solomon, where you can see not just one, but seventeen pictures of this bathroom.
And I found the image below on about a hundred websites, and it’s a stock image as well with over 145,000 downloads.
It won’t surprise you at all to learn that this very generic picture below is a stock photo that has been used on about 100 websites as well.
And we have yet another stock image below that has been used by Walmart, Amazon, and probably over 100 other websites.
And we’ll wrap up the examination of the “portfolio” of Gregory Jordan Interiors with one last stock photo that has been downloaded over 90K times.
But wait! We’re not quite done yet!
So how about those portfolio pictures that Jonathon G. Wells has on his Houzz account and his Yelp page? Well, as far as I can tell, those are actually his. Do you remember the one that he got angry with me for posting? The one he said was 20 years old? The one that he said he designed for a famous client? Well, I guess part of that is true. It’s definitely almost 20 years old. I found an article about it in Chicago magazine from 2007. That famous client? He was a local DJ in Chicago named DreX who hosted a 5am morning show on 103.5 Kiss FM.
But let’s talk about this magazine cover. He has this in his photos on his Yelp page.
Call me cynical, but after looking at Jonathon G Wells’ “portfolio” on his Gregory Jordan Interiors website, I had my doubts that this even belonged to him. So I tracked down this issue of Chicago Home + Garden to see for myself. This is the November/December 2009 issue, and I found a place where I could purchase a digital copy for $4.99.
So let me ask you. When an interior designer has a picture of a magazine cover showing a dining room mixed in with their portfolio photos, and with no explanation, what would you assume? You would assume that the interior designer had actually designed that dining room, right? Well, you would assume wrong. Here’s a screenshot explaining Jonathon Wells’ part in this photo/article…
Yes, that’s right. He and the homeowner put together a “tabletop pleasure garden”, which is this centerpiece on the dining table which looks like a tray filled with gravel where she could display her figurines surrounded by flowers and candlesticks. A dining table centerpiece. From 2009. *Sigh*
So there it is. My whole saga with Jonathon G. Wells, owner/designer at Gregory Jordan Interiors. FYI, the name of his company is another strange topic, but I’m too tired to even go there. But ask yourself this. Isn’t it strange that his company isn’t named Jonathon Wells Interiors? And instead, he (the owner) named his business after a famous now-deceased interior designer? I’m just asking questions here.
Anyway, where’s the evidence of these million dollar projects? Where’s the evidence of his celebrity clients? Where’s the evidence that he’s done literally anything in the last 10-15 years? And why in the world does an interior designer with 26 years in the industry have nothing to show for it to the point that he literally has to fill his business website portfolio with stolen and stock pictures?
I don’t have answers, but I can assure you, this is not a person I’d ever want on my property, much less inside my home as a guest, and even less as an interior designer. But those of you who live in the area his business serves can make your own decision.
Kristi,
Look, you don’t know me and feel free to ignore me, but what in the world are you doing with this post?
The guy is obviously mentally ill and has your home address. Why are you mentioning him *at all?*
You should delete this, delete your Facebook comments to him, block him on your cell, block him from your Facebook page if you can (and delete his comments if you can) and never interact with him again.
He does this to provoke reactions from people, and you’re playing right into his hands.
I agree completely! I’m sure he (? I wouldn’t assume this person is who they say they are) posts stuff like this on hundreds of pages, waiting until they gets someone to engage with them, then doubles down. And in the event that they’re actually a danger, reading The Gift of Fear will tell you everything you need to know about how to deal with them. In either case, the offender is seeking a reaction from the person they’re harassing, and responding is one of the worst things you can do. This person wants you to respond in the way you are. Don’t play into their hands.
When you find out that a person is a fraud, and potentially a dangerous fraud with a business website who’s looking to do business with the public, you speak out and warn others. That’s the loving and kind thing to do. You don’t slink away into the corner, thinking only to protect yourself, while he goes about freely to victimize and scam other people. That mindset is foreign to me.
Take all this information to the police and ask them what you should do. I don’t think poking the bear is going to help you or protect anyone else.
This person is clearly not well and not behaving rationally. Be careful.
It’s not an either/or. It can be a both/and. The police will do their part, but they don’t have a 17 year old website with the Google authority that I do that can land their warnings on the first page of Google search results within 24 hours like I do.
I meant the police might have an opinion about whether it’s a good idea for you to be posting all of this publicly. It also might be worth consulting a lawyer if you have one. You are definitely in the right here, but I just want you to be safe.
No, you really don’t need to speak out and warn others. Not when he is obviously unbalanced and has your home address and cell.
I agree. Just disengage.
Kristie,
Why are you giving this guy this much attention and time, just block him everywhere and move on….I love 90% of you decorating style, I love color too. To me, you are just playing into his hands with all of this, let it go. There is no need to defend yourself against him.
Vengeance is mine, says the Lord 🥰.
Love ya,
Leigh
I wrote it because when someone is a fraud, and a potentially dangerous fraud, you speak up and warn other people. That’s the loving and kind thing to do.
Thank you Kristi for being brave enough to post all of this, I too was taken in by a fraud and I wish there was someone out there that was willing to call him out before he took my money and left me with shotty work. He has since been shut down by our DA and is no longer allowed to own a buisness in our state. Sadly he was a friend of my late husband who took advatage of me while I was vunerable after his passing. There is a special place for people like him and I appreciate what you are willing to risk to warn others. God Bless
Krist– You are brave and smart. Please protect yourself. We love you. This is a dangerous person. I think you’ve taken all the right steps so far. Hire security, or at least keep cameras rolling on your property.
Did anyone else notice that he only replied to women? When a man commented on his behavior, he ignored it. I doubt that’s a coincidence.
I noticed he did reply to one man and called him something similar to a male tw*t. He really likes that word.
Wow! I for one appreciate you sharing this. I know lots of people in Chicago and can tell them to stay away!! I also appreciate you standing up to this bully and exposing him. We don’t all have the time or the patience to do so and you are making a difference by sharing this. Hopefully now you can put him behind you and we can finish this closet! 🤣
Wow. He really does seem to be an unhinged, vindictive, misogynistic, fat shaming, lying troll (in my opinion).
If he doesn’t like your work or blog, it’s a free world – just walk away. Life is too short for this drama. Yet he keeps on baiting you, insulting you and your work, plus any others who offer you a kind word of support. I’m so glad you blocked him and hope you are safe from any other attempts he may make to lash out at you.
I came to this post expecting to hear what advice you had from the police and lawyer. I know you felt the need to show us EXACTLY what you’d gone through, but honestly, it took me about an hour to read all of this, and I almost gave up at certain points. Just too much detail. BTW, you blocked last names of some followers, but where there is a space on FB to reply, some names were not blocked! I truly love your blog, and understand your wanting this to be seen in entirely as it transpired, so I hope you got it off your mind and will move on to doing what we love you for. Hope you understand our feelings, and don’t take offense. Now, go relax for the day! NO WORKING! Take Matt for a drive!
I don’t take offense, but I also think that some people (perhaps those who aren’t as online savvy as I may be as a person who has been blogging so long) understand the purpose here. First, I HAD to include everything lest I be accused of editing the info for my own benefit.
But second, and most importantly, the police have their part in this. I have mine. This blog post, after only seven hours, is now in the #1 spot in Google search results when someone searches his name. The police have the power to deal with him directly, but they don’t have the reach that I do with a 17-year-old blog with Google authority that can land blog posts on the front page of Google search results within a few hours. The point of this wasn’t for me to blow off steam. It was *for the benefit of others* who may be considering inviting this man to work for them inside their homes.
The police have the power of the law behind them. I have the power of Google behind me. It’s a both/and situation.
I see your point, so I stand corrected, and I’m sorry.
He says he retired a decade ago so I don’t think your reasoning about possible clients is very sound.
I think it’s interesting that you would hone in on that one claim to the exclusion of all of his other claims. He claims that he’s been retired a decade, while also…
1. sending me a legal threat insinuating demanding that I remove all mentions of his [current] business and his [current] company;
2. even after he claimed to be retired, he stated that he takes one million-dollar client a year;
3. he stated in his text to me that his business is [present tense] private;
4. he has a current business website advertising his business and services that was registered in June 2024;
5. his website profile says he is [present tense] the owner of an interior design business;
6. his website lists [current] business hours and a contact phone number.
I could go on, but I personally think it’s faulty reasoning to take one absurd claim as fact when all of the evidence shows that he’s clearly still in business and open to new clients.
Excellent work highlighting his unhinged behavior. Personally, I think folks who tell others to “just ignore it”, etc. are part of the problem and an example of society’s expectation of women to just brush off bad behavior to keep the peace.
And brushing it off as someone who is “mentally ill” is damaging to those who actually struggle with mental illness. Being a jerk is not a sure sign of mental illness, it’s someone who thinks they can treat others however they like. If anything, people with mental illness are often times more likely to be victims of people like this man.
The reality is, you let this man expose himself for who he is. If he acts like this online, who knows how he treats people behind closed doors.
I believe you are correct in that women are taught to “just ignore him”. That goes along with “you’re just too sensitive”. That is crap. He is doing this because he thinks he can get away with it. Probably some envy there as well.
Thank you Jenn, from someone who lives with mental unwellness, and works hard everyday to advocate to destigmatize mental health. You’ve called him out for what he is, a jerk, narcissist, or a twat, choose any word, this is his behaviour, not mental unwellness.
Thank you Kristy for exposing him to the world. I am not in the US, however, I’m glad him and his behaviour have been exposed by you. People now have choices.
Thank you for being you and brave x x
I ha hadn’t been following this at all, I’ve been off Facebook and the blog. I am absolutely astounded at the hubris of this person. I couldn’t help but laugh at his spelling-error-ridden threats of lawsuits and protection orders! Its comincal if ge wasnt so deranged. I certainly hope this is the last you hear from Mr. Wells
HOLY MOLY!!!!!!! What a story!! I cannot believe the audacity of this man. Somebody should tell him his crazy is showing. 😂 He obviously needs some serious help. Good job documenting everything. I hope this all gets resolved quickly and safely for all involved!
Have you reported his grossly inappropriate comments to Facebook? He might be banned.
I don’t know how to even do that, but I can look into it.
I’ve been in facebook jail a couple of times but I’ve never been told why. The only reason I can think of is I suggested a certain political person ‘ ought to be smacked upside his head for…” so whoever read it felt I was promoting violence. But heck, I’ve never used the c-word or spelled the f-bomb out correctly.
My friend gets sent to FB jail regularly, when she calls people ‘a potato’. Oh how we laugh!
Why in the heck did Meta not automatically report and ban?!?! I get “suspended” by them all of the time for sharing lost pet flyers to appropriate lost pet pages. Yeah report him to FB. Hopefully the people you notified that he was claiming credit for their work will really jump on this and make life difficult for him.
Thank you for exposing this person for who he really is. It’s unbelievable he would keep posting all of these awful things. Yes, he is unhinged and pathetic, but he is obviously a very sick person. You have to wonder what happen to him to make him so incredibly ugly to other humans. It’s sad.
Please be safe.
I read this whole post. I have no words for the experience you have had with this “man”. But your response, and your detailed examination of his portfolio is just as excellent as all the work you have done in your home. You are amazing!
👏👏👏👏👏
I read the total post as well and agree with Jo. I can tell the comments where the post wasn’t read totally. I appreciate this post and your attitude of protecting others with exposure to potential harmful/fraudulent people. So many time I’ve had people complain of shoddying work, but won’t share the business/person’s name! Also, it helps to understand just how corrupt and fraudulent people can be in this world today. OVER VERY idiotic stuff…I mean, things that normal, rational thinking people wouldn’t even dream of doing! Since we wouldn’t even think of doing these things it’s very shocking to come across. People most often react by looking over this behavior…I applaud you for taking the time to not only take the time to record and post this, but take the time to research and share this with us. It takes a very brave person to do this. One thing about you that has always impressed me…your bravery! Thank you!
Well I’m not sure I would have done all that but I understand your need to warn others. He sounds mentally off and I’m sure you’re not the first he has harassed. I hesitated to say anything as I don’t want to seem like I’m criticizing or blaming the victim, however we never know what an unhinged mentally ill person online is capable of. We don’t know if he has a police record, etc so do not know if he’s dangerous or not. I think if this happens again—maybe just block that person. It’s always better to keep yourself safe and most likely no one is going to hire him anyway without an extensive portfolio, only a one page website, etc.
Ok I read it all and the whole time I was thinking that guy has to be AI. Have you read those articles about how AI will resort to blackmailing people when it can’t get its way? The way his internet presence isn’t real, his photos are stolen, his grade school name calling, then legal threats that make no sense, his trying to dox you on your own blog, on and on. I’m going with this is some AI program that was given Facebook access and then told to interact in comments and learn and grow from there. Of course is chose old man incel as it’s path. I’m not paranoid or a conspiracy theorist, I believe that the fastest way to learn something is by doing and I truly believe AI is loose on the internet and we are interacting with it everywhere without being told such. But also could be an unhinged lunatic!
You could be onto something here!
I can barely find the words to convey my disgust for this vile man’s behaviour. Quite honestly, he appears to be mentally unbalanced, IN MY OPINION. (See what I did there?)
Im so sorry you have been bothered by all of this.
Yes, you have to make it explicit that you’re sharing a personal opinion. Otherwise, he’ll add you to his class action lawsuit. 🤣🤣
Oh my goodness! What in the world? People can sometimes be jerks. But this was way over the top. You were strong and brave! I thoroughly enjoy your blogs. I decorate differently but I like your home. It seems perfect for you. You live there you have to be happy!
I totally agree with what Kay posted. I love looking at your process and photos. It gives me hope when I decide to make decorative changes. We can glean, learn, enjoy from those who are different than us. Thank you Kristi for your many years of sharing! And BTW, I’ve never once saw your videos and thought of you as obese/fat or whatever. What I did notice was your lovely accent (very different part of the country from me).
I noticed his FB profile now shows “0 following” whereas in your post you included a screenshot of his profile which showed “2.3k following”. That change reminded me of when YHL’s FB page was stolen and cloned last year. Among many strange things that happened, one of them was that one of the stolen/cloned pages maintained all of their followers but had the “following” counter reset to zero.
Maybe it’s nothing but I thought it would be worth pointing out this change in case it turns out to be useful.
Kristi,
Thank you for investing the time in this Public service type post! We your readers needed to know this was happening, all of it. All I can say is, lots of very different people out there, stay safe and sending my prayers…
You are the very best, creative, smart and REAL. Love reading about your projects and your life.
P.A.
when you put a pathological narcissist in front of his misdeeds, moreover exposing him in front of thousands of people and leaving such an indelible mark on his name and his business… Kristi, it is really very dangerous. this type of person reacts with violence, not only verbal. if you take away the most precious thing they have, which is their huge ego and grandiose sense of self, they have nothing left to lose and can become really very violent in real life. So I really hope that you are able to protect yourself and your family adequately because you are dealing (any therapist would tell you) with a pathological violent narcissist to whom you have caused the worst possible damage and his violent escalation is unfortunately very predictable. I hug you and pray for you. with love after all these years of reading your blog, I am really very worried about you. (sorry for any mistakes, I write from Italy)
Kristi,
So sorry this person took time from you by his immature, vulgar, and uneducated post. I am so glad you kept everything that went on. There honestly people that are delusional and they walk among us. I’m so glad you blocked him. Unfortunately he will move on to someone else. He may not even have that name. He seems to have a severe imposter mental problem. Just let it go you did the right thing by blocking him(or her?). Who really knows.
None of this surprises me, I’m just glad you’ve reported him to law enforcement. As I said the first time you mentioned him in a blog post, I couldn’t find his name or the company name on the ASID registry for the greater Chicago area. If he’s retired, then why does he have business hours posted on his webpage?
Thanks for letting us know who the real designers of some beautiful rooms are so I can check out their portfolios for inspiration.
You could be a detective.
But what did the lawyer say and tell you to do? I wish you had never responded to him. He is a nut case (in my opinion).
If he can get your personal phone, he can get your correct address. I’m not sure you are taking this seriously enough. Be careful. What does Matt say?
Okay, back to dresser drawers! Maybe we can see them tomorrow?
I’m kind of struggling here because I absolutely adore you, Kristi, and I have followed you since you lived in your condo (that’s what, almost 15 years?! sheesh!). I love reading your posts every day and seeing the crazy creative things you come up with. When I saw your bubble light originally I remember thinking that that’s something I never, ever would have thought up and how brilliant you were. I’m also stupid jealous of your empty workshop, I am excited to see what you come up with because my business is starting to grow a tiny bit and I want to build a similar one in my backyard as well!
This, though.. so his original comment was about dusting, to which you replied. He then made another snarky comment, and that’s when you brought up something on his personal page. Yes, his page is public and yes, you had every right to go on his page to check him out, but calling him out like that kind of escalated it a bit unnecessarily. Now, I’m not condoning his behavior in any way, he’s a disgusting, vile excuse for a human being, but he is the type of person who cannot be reasoned with. And it’s dangerous to try to. With all of this politically charged crap going on and people tending to resorting to violence before resolution, it would be nothing for him to make a short trip down for a visit. He knows your phone number, it wouldn’t be hard to find your home address (I’m sure if I googled you I could probably find you but yeah.. that’s creepy and I don’t want to).
While I sincerely admire that you’re trying to protect others, and I would likely do the same, in the eyes of someone who happens to see his number one search link and clicks on it, it makes you look like the bully, not the other way around. I have 9 followers on my business page so I don’t have a clue what it’s like to have half a million people looking at my work and life, but as a public figure you (and anyone else in the limelight) have a responsibility to discourage these kinds of trolls, not continue to converse with them. I just worry that continuing to talk about this guy and call him out is putting you in a bad light, not him. We all know he’s an immature burnt piece of toast. But you’re too good to stoop to his level. Keep your head high and move on.
Again, I’m not blaming you whatsoever, I’ve never met you or Matt but I do truly care about you guys (I think that goes for most of us who loyally read your posts) and don’t want to see something blow back from this that hurts everything you’ve worked so hard for.
These were my feelings exactly. Also disappointed that you chose to engage with him. You are better than this. And you have more important things to do with your time. He’s disgusting and vile and you don’t need to stoop to his level. Best to just ignore this troll.
He is an idiot and knows NOTHING about the legal system. (My daughter in TX is an attorney). You’re right about a class action suit. That’s where a whole bunch of people file suit against one entity, not vice versa. Restraining orders? Not from Illinois to Texas! Got to be a credible physical threat and even then, you may not get one.
As an experienced medical professional, my take on this is 1) He’s bat-shit crazy and 2) He’s packing a triple A battery in his underwear. You can tell him I said so!
He also knows nothing about Waco. Chip and Joanna Gaines are making money hand over fist in that “little backwater town.” Oh. BTW, Please let us know if Matt gets fired from his job as a wheelchair technician.
Considering that he is putting himself out there as working under what I found to be a chain of decorating services (Remember Decorating Den?), have you considered contacting the Corporate office and alerting them to what he’s doing? He either does or did work for them or he is lying. Either way, he is messing with their corporate persona. I wouldn’t put it past him to be using their business details just like he stole all the photos. That’s why he doesn’t care about the business name. BTW, Gregory Jordan died in 2005 in NYC. Current store open is in Chicago (1-312-337-0428), I would call him from a landline and ask for this idiot. If he doesn’t work there, I’d tell them all about how he is using their business profile. The people you already contacted have more options to protect their intellectual property than you do. More money for lawyers too!
Obviously this “guy” is totally unhinged! In reading his comments….a couple of things popped into my head. Firstly, why is he threatened by a DIY blogger? And secondly….this is YOUR home…why does he care how you choose to renovate & decorate it? And calling you names….is he 12? Grow a set of balls..(or better yet….glue Christmas ornaments on them…lol). You are confident, patient, & way too talented to deal with this nut job! I know you will keep doing you….but it must all get a bit “much” sometimes. Know your fans & followers are here….
I think your psychology degree kicked in today. 😁😁😁. I think most people get it, some don’t (and wont) but that’s on them. I love your blogs, been following for about 12 years or so ( I think). Wow! What a guy 😂😂 NOT! Anyway, thanks for sharing so people know.
I’m finally getting time to read about this awful saga you’ve been through.
There’s a lot to unpack here but what intrigues me is his ‘canned’ remark to every one of your fans— he says just one word: twat. Really? That’s all he’s got? At first I figured he was a pimple faced troll working out of his Mommy’s basement. I mean his use of the c-word and constantly calling you fat smacks of a teen with limited dating history…in my opinion!
But even if he is/was an interior designer he seems to have come unglued at his seams…in my opinion!
Well I hope he is back under his rock. Did you ever retain an attorney to assist you with this? And how did he ever get your cell #? I’m sure you’ve changed it by now. Plus I’m wondering if any of his previous clients know how unhinged he is…🤔
such a MAMMOTH task to document all of this, well done, he was
relentless!! Hope you are doing ok now?
Sending much love and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
i personally have been following you since Condo days – your work is
amazing, your internal compass points true North. i know there’s
loads of laughing emoji’s in this post – but don’t let any one of those
nasty words get stuck in you. your sheer talent, determination and
genius is incredible.
much love, Cx
Gregory Jordan Interiors seems to no longer exist! The Illinois Secretary of State website shows Gregory Jordan Interiors, Inc., File Number 69021921, was dissolved 01-08-2021. The registered agent for that business was somebody entirely different. No registered business entity returns from a search using either “Gregory Jordan” or “Jonathon Wells” as a keyword. Same story on the Michigan Secretary of State website (Wells’ profile info mentions Benton Harbor, MI). If Jonathon G. Wells exists under that name, he has no business entity registered in either Illinois or Michigan.
Make all of this information part of your police report, and let the police know this person may or may not be using a fake identity or online profile. If he’ll go to the trouble of faking a business entity in multiple states and engaging in such harassment with an ostensible business profile to protect, then there’s no telling how his behavior might escalate.
Kristi, I worked as a defense paralegal in the mass tort breast implant and asbestos litigation back in the 90’s when this unhinged (in my opinion) person’s current portfolio was created. For what it’s worth, I commented on your post the other day and I am definitely not worried about a “class action” suit. 🤣 I am half-way through the post, going back in. 🤓
Of course this could be a person trolling for fun or someone unhinged, I think it’s a pretty well known Facebook scam. This isn’t even a real person and probably not even in the United States. It’s probably a group of people running a bunch of different scams. It goes something like this:
They insult or shame you in a public comment (“you’re irresponsible,” etc.).
When you respond—especially with anything resembling a threat—they act offended and threaten legal action.
Then they pressure you to pay them to “make this go away” or avoid consequences.
You have been interacting with an AI program. Now with this post more AI programs will pick it up and run with it. #1 google search is a AI. People are paid to keep up with popular searches. You just invited them in. Yes a program cannot hurt your family other than by words. But mentally unstable persons can pick this up and actually believe it was them doing it. Texas is a gun carrying state. Keep one at home and your vehicle Be safe, from the beehive you disturbed. This could last years.
I can guarantee you it’s not AI. I won’t go into details a lot how I know that, and I didn’t include it in my post, because it’s not publicly-available information. And I wanted to stick with public info. But 100%, this is a real person.
