I always enjoy seeing old, outdated lamps and lampshades transformed into something that is pretty and modern. This great lampshade makeover from A Smith Of All Trades has a wonderful hand stitched detail that gives it a casual look, and fabric flowers that add a bit of whimsy.

Addicted 2 Decorating is where I share my DIY and decorating journey as I remodel and decorate the 1948 fixer upper that my husband, Matt, and I bought in 2013. Matt has M.S. and is unable to do physical work, so I do the majority of the work on the house by myself. You can learn more about me here.

June 26, 2012 at 7:16 amI love this. The only thing you have to be careful with when adding fabric to lamps, is that they don’t burn easily. I once re-did a lamp with fabric. I guess I used the wrong kind (and maybe a high wattage bulb) and it didn’t end pretty. 🙂
