Outside Of My Comfort Zone:: New Color Palette & Style
I’ve spent a large portion of my time today selecting fabrics for a client, and I’m so excited about this project. It’s definitely getting me out of my comfort zone, because I’m working with a color palette and a style that I’ve never used before. I love working with clients who are open to new ideas!!
The color palette is below (although the colors aren’t exact). I’m using a spicy adobe color, dark eggplant, olive green, and a very light earthy yellow–all colors are Behr from Home Depot. The style that we’re aiming for is Craftsman. Actually, the house itself is traditional, but all of their furniture is Craftsman style, so we’re trying to inject that style into the house as much as possible. It’s been really fun to work on something that gets me outside of my comfort zone, and the more I stare at these colors, the more I love them!! I really wish that the computer monitor would show the colors accurately, but you can get an idea of what I’m working with.
I look forward to sharing more of this project with you as we progress. Oh…and she’s going to be painting her kitchen cabinets. The lowers are going to be the dark eggplant color, and the uppers are going to be a light putty color. SO EXCITED! I’ll DEFINITELY be sharing pictures of that with you.
Addicted 2 Decorating is where I share my DIY and decorating journey as I remodel and decorate the 1948 fixer upper that my husband, Matt, and I bought in 2013. Matt has M.S. and is unable to do physical work, so I do the majority of the work on the house by myself. You can learn more about me here.
I love the color combination. Can't wait to see what you do with them. You are so talented!
Looking forward to seeing pics 🙂
