Welcome to the first Progress Report Monday here at A2D. I’m excited to see what kind of progress you’re making on your projects, and I’ll share my own progress. But first, I wanted to share a very important sewing tip with you–one that I’ve used for many years now, and has really become a very convenient time-saver.
When you sew, always wear a padded bra! It makes a great pin cushion! No more searching for the pins underneath the mounds of fabric, or wearing one of those irritating wrist pin cushions. Nope, this is so much more convenient! They’re always there, and within arm’s reach (for most of us, at least). š
Ooohhhh, you thought I was kidding?! Nope. But here’s my one caveat: If you decide to employ this time-saving tip, and in the middle of your sewing project, you decide you need to quickly run to the fabric store for more machine needles or thread, be sure to take the pins OUT of your handy pin cushion BEFORE heading to the store. Ummm…yeah….anyway.
Moving on to my projects: Remember this pile of fabric?

That now looks like this:

A 27-inch Euro sham with crushed velvet ruffle! My goal was to get two of them finished, and in fact, I didn’t even get one completely finished. This one still needs buttons and button holes on the back. Right now it’s being kept on with pins.
(I’m linking this project to Metamorphosis Monday at Between Naps on the Porch and DIY Day at A Soft Place to Land.)
My second project was to finish the draperies I was working on. The installation has been postponed, so I can’t show you the final project hanging up, but here’s a little preview:

Now let’s see the progress on your projects!
It doesn’t matter if you’re working on a sewing project, a craft project that you’ve always wanted to try, a kitchen remodel, an organization project, a bedroom makeover, or anything else.
If it’s home-related, I want to see!
And the best part…it doesn’t have to be finished! I just want to see your progress, and offer a place for accountability and encouragement. An of course, if you’ve finished your project, I’ll celebrate with you!!
So here’s what you need to do:
- Add a permalink to your specific post, not the main URL of your blog.
- Include your name/blog name, and a short description of your project.
- Link back to this Progress Report Monday post from your post so others can join in.
- Make sure your link works and goes to the right post on your blog so it doesnāt get deleted! If you come back and see your link is gone, try again.

Addicted 2 Decorating is where I share my DIY and decorating journey as I remodel and decorate the 1948 fixer upper that my husband, Matt, and I bought in 2013. Matt has M.S. and is unable to do physical work, so I do the majority of the work on the house by myself. You can learn more about me here.
I hope you’ll join me on my DIY and decorating journey! If you want to follow my projects and progress, you can subscribe below and have each new post delivered to your email inbox. That way you’ll never miss a thing!

October 27, 2009 at 11:57 amThat sewing tip is too funny. Even if the bra was padded I still wouldn't trust myself not to do major damage with the pins. š Beautiful job on the pillow!
