Brass Chandlelier Makeover
Every time I go to ReStore, I see several brass chandeliers and bargain prices. I’m always so tempted to scoop them up, but unfortunately I have no place for them in my tiny condo. But I hate passing them by, especially when they’re so easy to update without spending a ton of money.
This brass chandelier makeover from Katie at SweetGirl Expressions is a fantastic example of what can be done with these brass chandeliers. Katie’s chandelier started out looking like this…
And with a little paint, fabric, and bling, she turned it into this beauty…
Isn’t that pretty?! She used it in her dining room, but it would also look great in a bedroom, a little girl’s room, or even in a bathroom. Really, you could use it just about anywhere.
You can see more pictures of this project over at SweetGirl Expressions.
If this pretty, feminine style isn’t quite your thing, and you prefer a more rustic look, then check out how I spruced up a brass chandelier for John & Alice’s bathroom using spray paint and jute. The possibilities are endless!
Addicted 2 Decorating is where I share my DIY and decorating journey as I remodel and decorate the 1948 fixer upper that my husband, Matt, and I bought in 2013. Matt has M.S. and is unable to do physical work, so I do the majority of the work on the house by myself. You can learn more about me here.
It’s beautiful! It looks a lot like my chandelier currently (minus the cord cover, I just have a chain, note to self, buy cord cover;) I just got a hideous chandelier in a badly done bright pink (nauseating color). I plan to spary paint it white and see if that is enough, but may add beads or other colors, it has metal flowers interspersed around a bare bulb enclosure (weird, but thought for $2.99 I would see what I can do with it). I love this project you showed, its lovely. I bypassed a big chandelier that was similar but not as nice for the weird flower one I selected….(didn’t want to have to run hard wiring and this already had a plug)
Thank you for featuring my chandelier!!! My husband even likes it & “bling” is not his thing 🙂
How do you attach the “bling”. I found an amazing chandelier at a Habitat store for $6.00. We are ready to spray it, but we cannot figure out how you attached the crystals. Thanks.
I love this! I just redid a brass chandelier that I found at the restore, and I’m loving the new look. Check out my blog to see how I attached the bling at http://www.lakeluv.com/2014/06/house-diy-dated-and-brassy-turned.html
