A Musical Interlude

Last Updated on December 28, 2015 by Kristi Linauer

This doesn’t really have anything to do with interior decorating, but this is nothing if not design.

For the last several weeks, I’ve been hearing all of this chatter about the David Crowder Band’s SMS Shine video.  David Crowder happens to live here in my city, and I’ve enjoyed his music for quite some time now.  So I finally took the time to watch this video and was absolutely amazed.

I have long been fascinated with stop motion animation, and have even tried my hand at a few very basic stop motion animation videos.  But I can’t even fathom the work that went into this.  To create this video, they used over 700,000 Lite Brite pegs, and over 1200 individual completed Lite Brite pictures.  It’s a bit of a blast from the past, as my Lite Brite was one of my favorite toys when I was little.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this amazing work of art as much as I did!  I just can’t stop watching it!! (Sorry, but it’ll take you to YouTube, and then you have to watch an advertisement first. But I hope you’ll find it worth it!)

And if you want to be further amazed and get more insight into what it took to make this short 3 minute video, take a few more minutes to view the “Making of” videos.  Here’s Part 1 of five (they’re really short)…

I hope you enjoyed this little musical interlude!  I love to take time to appreciate other peoples’ talents…especially those with vastly different types of talent than my own.  I consider myself a pretty creative person, but I never in a million years could have dreamed something like this up in my head.  I’m amazed!
