A Video Tutorial — DIY Pendant Light Made From Wood Tasting Spoons
Y’all, I decided to spend my holiday yesterday by brushing up on my video making skills. It’s been so long since I did a YouTube video, and I’d love to start doing more. Needless to say, my skills are a bit rusty, and it took me about twice as long as I thought it should have, but here’s my final product. If you don’t see it below, you can click here to see it on YouTube.
For those of you who don’t like videos, you can just refer back to my previous posts on this project for more details. But I included details in the video that I didn’t include in the posts.
Now that my light is finished, and my desk is finished, I just have one more big project for this area of my studio. I just need to reupholster my desk chair, and then I’ll just have a few smaller details to go. Here’s a peek at what the fabric looks like…
I still want to have a monogram put on the top of the chair back (where my head would rest), but I’m thinking about doing it in a dark red just about a shade or two lighter than the fabric so that it’s kind of subtle. So things are moving along!
Addicted 2 Decorating is where I share my DIY and decorating journey as I remodel and decorate the 1948 fixer upper that my husband, Matt, and I bought in 2013. Matt has M.S. and is unable to do physical work, so I do the majority of the work on the house by myself. You can learn more about me here.
I love the fabric for the chair. The color is so saturated and it looks very rich. I suspect you may enjoy that chair a little too much! LOL!
I tend to agree. 😁😁
Your you tube tutorial was so so good, and even though I can’t imagine making this project, it was so interesting to hear the process that you went through. Bravo!
Beautiful lamp and excellent video. You have got talent and so much patience!
Kristi,
WOW! I watched your video and I am so impressed. You’re the most talented young woman, and making this video shows it. The lamp is beautiful. It is one of a kind. It is all Kristi. I loved hearing your voice and I loved seeing you actually doing the work you put into this project. I just can’t say enough good about your video. I’m so glad I watched it. I booked marked it so I can refer back to it and show my friends and family. Thank you for creating the video. Yes…make more videos. I want to see them.
Please, please, please do more videos. I LOVED watching and listening to your thought process. It’s also fun to hear your voice and now I will hear it in my head even when I’m reading your blog.
Bravo for the wonderful video and your dedication to that project!!!
I love reading your blog and your Instagram account. Following your creative ventures is a true delight. Recently you’ve mentioned listening to podcasts while you work and you even named one you just finished. Any chance you’d make a post with your favorites? I’m always looking for podcast recommendations and feel like you probably have nice long list!
Wow. SO cool to see it in action! You are an amazing, creative, persistent person!
I love how the pendant light turned out from top to bottom. Awesome job and it blends and yet stands out all at the same time. Just love it. Total change on topics but I couldn’t help but think what pretty earrings and bracelets those spoons would make. Light weight also. Would love to see you do that.
