March 1, 2012 at 4:10 pmI love this transformation so much! I especially surprised by the drapes not all matching which you have to follow the link to see. It makes the focal point so much stronger. It actually gives the room two focal points that don’t fight each other. I had seen it done once which was in one of your (Katie’s) sketch designs. I had never even seen it done in a magazine much less a room, ( not by design) so I wasn’t sure, but boy was I wrong. It is just perfect. One fabric would not have been as strong or balanced. In that sketch I remember thinking and commenting that is seemed to have been done to make the focal point stronger. I wonder what the rules of thumb are in making this design choice? Anyway- this bedroom is beautiful, cheerful and inviting. I love the combination of edgy with rustic and modern with country. There is a lot of contrast and balance going on and the overall effect is just stunning.

March 2, 2012 at 5:04 amStunning and amazing. What a makeover. I love the white theme, but not only that. Judging from the before picture, there was a lot of work and imagination that went into this one. Thanks for sharing.

March 4, 2012 at 7:18 pmthis is nice, but my dilemma with my bedroom is that i have a bed with drawers underneath . So i need either some kind of floating shelf as a night stand or has anyone come across this situation?

April 29, 2013 at 2:02 pmI am curious about the headboard in this picture, is it barn wood? If so what do you treat the barn wood with before you hang it
