I spent all day yesterday shopping for the finishing touches for Gwen’s bedroom and bathroom. I promise…it’ll be finished…SOON!!
So while I’m finishing that up, I wanted to show you an incredible find from Goodwill that I’m going to use in John & Alice’s bedroom.

When I pulled into the Goodwill parking lot and saw these (potential) beauties sitting there, I couldn’t believe it. For a split second, I thought that my mom had gotten tired of storing mine, and had decided to give them away. But I realized quickly that while these are similar to mine, they have several differences. These have much lower backs (perfect for sitting at the foot of the bed), the seats are wider, and the legs are fancier. And they were a steal at $30 each!!
I passed them up at first, because I didn’t think I had a use for them. But I just couldn’t bear the thought of passing up such (potentially) beautiful chairs.
Then I realized that these chairs would actually look much better in J & A’s bedroom than the ones I had previously selected. Remember those? Let me refresh your memory.

Don’t get me wrong…I absolutely love those chairs. The funny thing is that when my mom and I were rolling them out to the car from the estate sale where I found them, I told her that they would make great office chairs.
Well, guess who just happens to need two comfy office chairs? I DO!! So these little chairs will eventually get a makeover and have a new home in my office.
And then these guys…

…will get a makeover of their own, and find a home in this room…

…which is gradually looking more and more like my vision for the room…

By the way, the gorgeous cherry wood-look vinyl flooring installation will begin either tomorrow or Thursday. Yay! A couple of you asked if I’m going to be installing the flooring myself. Ummm…no. That’s one job I’ll gladly leave to the pros. 🙂

Addicted 2 Decorating is where I share my DIY and decorating journey as I remodel and decorate the 1948 fixer upper that my husband, Matt, and I bought in 2013. Matt has M.S. and is unable to do physical work, so I do the majority of the work on the house by myself. You can learn more about me here.
I hope you’ll join me on my DIY and decorating journey! If you want to follow my projects and progress, you can subscribe below and have each new post delivered to your email inbox. That way you’ll never miss a thing!

January 22, 2011 at 11:07 pmThese designs are elegant, beautiful, and seem like they are expensive! I'd love to learn more about the history of this furniture. Do have a brick and mortar store where you sell anything like this, or do you know of one?
