Hello, all! Well, I’ve been a bit off-the-grid this week as I tried to get all of our ducks in a row because…
we’re closing on the house today!!
Hallelujah, the day has finally come! We’ve been working towards this day for over a year now, and finally today at 4:00, everything will be finalized.
I’m so excited to show you the house (in its complete “before” state), as well as some of my vision for what the house will look like in its “after” state. It’ll take years to get there, but the journey is the fun part, right?
So anyway, just wanted to pop in and share the exciting news, and let you know I’ll be back here on Monday with a full house tour.
Have a great weekend!

Addicted 2 Decorating is where I share my DIY and decorating journey as I remodel and decorate the 1948 fixer upper that my husband, Matt, and I bought in 2013. Matt has M.S. and is unable to do physical work, so I do the majority of the work on the house by myself. You can learn more about me here.
I hope you’ll join me on my DIY and decorating journey! If you want to follow my projects and progress, you can subscribe below and have each new post delivered to your email inbox. That way you’ll never miss a thing!

August 16, 2013 at 9:33 amHappy C-Day! And Congratulations. Buying a house is always a fun and exciting time, as well as overwhelming at times. We bought our house in 2006, and “moved” in that day. Of course, “move in” meant a blow up mattress on the living room floor, our ice chest and camp chairs, and the bbq on the patio (in December)… we even had a 2 ft Christmas tree and decorations! But it was ours and we never spent another night in our old mobile home. 😀
Enjoy today.

August 16, 2013 at 1:25 pmcongratulations! But I am deleting you and not recommending you because you ignore the people and responses you ask questions for!

August 16, 2013 at 1:30 pmTeresa, I respond to as many comments as I possibly can. I take care of a disabled husband, I’m trying to get the condo finished to put it on the market, I’ve had to take care of the entire house-purchasing process myself, plus my website design business, and I do it all myself with no help from anyone.
I suppose I could respond to more comments if I reduce my sleeping to five hours a night instead of the luxurious six hours a night that I get.

August 16, 2013 at 2:09 pmCongratulations Kristi! I appreciate that you take the time to share your amazing creativity and talent — you inspire me to keep tackling my own DIY. Don’t let this person’s insensitivity dampen your excitement. You are amazing and I look forward to seeing your new home and all of the renovations!

August 16, 2013 at 2:18 pmCongratulations, Kristi! I’m glad to be following along on this adventure with you, can’t wait to see what you do to your new home. You are truly inspiring me to get my act together and perk up my place. I lost my mother a couple of years ago, and she was my decorating co-conspirator. Basically, my audience who would ooh and aah over my changes and accomplishments around the house. Time to get back into it for myself. Thanks for the boost of enthusiasm. (However, reading about all you do makes ME tired! )
