The Most Ridiculous Post You’ll Ever Read On A2D

Don’t say I didn’t warn you.  This truly will be the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever read here (hopefully).  But I wanted to offer this excuse for why I didn’t get the fabric “wallpaper” hung in my office closet this weekend.

But seriously, it’s not much of an excuse.  It’s on par with “the dog ate my homework”.

Anyway, here goes.  I used to be one of those people who looked upon “those people” who spent time playing online games (especially Facebook games) with derision.  Don’t they have a life, I would say.  Do they know how annoying all of those material requests are that they’re sending me, I would ask.  Is their real life so boring that they have to create a virtual world for themselves, I would wonder.

Well, now I’m one of those people.  I never knew until a few days ago that at least one of those games would let me DESIGN and get super creative!!  Oh my gosh, I’m hooked.

So why is my sewing closet not finished?  Because look, people…

I had a garden to design.

gardens of time

Uugghh…I’m one of those people now.  Go ahead.  Laugh.  I can take it.  And I’m only just a little bit embarrassed for sharing this with you.

But I need to go now.  My Big Ben needs to be upgraded, so I have lots of supply requests to send to my Facebook friends.

Open-mouthed smile

Just kiddin’ (kind of).  It’s time to leave my virtual garden and return to the real world and create things that actual real people can enjoy.

Now be honest, have you been sucked into one of these silly, yet highly addictive, Facebook games?  Are you drawn to ones that let you create and design stuff?

Now be honest again.  Was this not the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever read on my blog?  Never mind.  If I’ve ever written anything more ridiculous than this, I probably don’t want to be reminded about it.

  1. I haven't been sucked into a Facebook game (yet!), mainly because I don't understand how to play them really and choose to not figure it out.  But Angry Birds…..    that's a different story!

  2. For me, it was Scrabble.  Morning, noon and night.  Don't let me play anything that keeps score because I will try (and try and try) to top it.

I say go ahead and have fun.  enjoy it.  (don't send me any requests for anything.)  and set a kitchen timer so you can get back to work because I want to see that closet!!

  3. Kristi, I don't see anything wrong with a game in which you get to design a garden. It reminds me a little of Olioboard. After you introduced us to Olioboard, I "designed" 4 or 5 rooms in two days. LOL Things like this can be very addicting (and we already know you have an addictive personality from you blog name ("Addicted to Decorating hahaha)

But I am with Barb. Pleas don't send me any requests. lol

  4. Hi there, I definitely agree with you. Nice one! This is hell of a fun! Thanks for bringing this up. I have some concerns though, message me if you have time. I would love to discuss my concerns.

  5. Ridiculous??? MAYBE…. Fun? Totally. I was soooooo sucked into Farmville for a while but luckily I went on a 2 week vacation and when came back it was too much work to get it all up and running again. hahaha

  6. Hey… the only reason I play Farmville is because I get to design and decorate.  I don't care anything about the actual game play.  Everytime I get bored and think I'll quit… they release new items and I get sucked into redecorating my farm.  LOL

  7. I just discovered Gardens of Time the other day and have sucked in.  It's so much fun designing my little garden!

  8. LOL!!!!  This post is soooo me!!!  I always rolled my eyes at all the requests I would get (My Mother in law is the WORST!) and always would ignore them.  Then I stumbled upon this game….yep.  I'm hooked.  And although at first I tried to keep my garden pretty & organized, mine now looks like I am a hoarder.  Of houses.  And Great Walls, and Vineyards, and, and, and…. (Feel free to add me as a friend if you need more Garden Friends.  I typically don't add people I don't know, but I feel like I know you since I have been following you for over a year now & you actually respond to my posts! 🙂

  9. I thought it was going to be some boring old post, but it really
compensated for my time. I will post a link to this page on my blog. I
am sure my visitors will find that very useful
