A Shameless Plug…Because I Want A House!
Hello, all! You might notice today that Addicted 2 Decorating has a new look. My goal was to widen the post area, enlarge the sidebars, use larger fonts, create more white space, brighten things up a bit (that gray was starting to depress me!!), use bigger thumbnails, and make room for larger photos in posts. Basically, I just wanted an overall easier-to-read blog. (It’s crazy how I never noticed until recently how reader-unfriendly my blog was with the tiny font and virtually no spacing between lines!! Sorry for the eye strain it undoubtedly caused!)
So, since I spent yesterday…until 2:00am…putting the finishing touches on the new blog redesign, and I had no project to share with you today, I thought I’d take a moment to shamelessly plug my WordPress business. I’ve mentioned it casually here and there, but I’ve never really just come right out and shared with you…so I hope you’ll indulge me while I do that now.
Remember how I mentioned that Matt and I are chomping at the bit to get out of this condo and into a house?
Well, we are soooo ready, and in order to do that, we need money…in a hurry!! We had always said that when we bought our next home, we’d pay for it in cash. But the opportunity has arisen for us to purchase a house (a specific house that we both really like) hopefully in the next few months. So to help us save up as much money as possible in these next few months, I’ve been putting my WordPress knowledge to good use and taking on clients.
What can I do? Well, I can do…
- Blogger to WordPress blog migrations,
- Custom WordPress blog designs,
- Project galleries, and
- WordPress coaching.
Want to see some of the blogs I’ve designed? Here are a few of my favorites. You can click on the thumbnails to see larger images, and you can click here to see more blogs I’ve designed…
[nggallery id=1]
So…
- If you’ve been thinking about moving your blog from Blogger to WordPress, I can help you!
- And if you’ve been thinking about having your WordPress blog custom designed, I can help you!
- And if you want a project gallery added to your site (or 30, like I have), I can help you!
- And if you’re just feeling a bit lost on WordPress and need help, I can help you!
- And if you know of someone needing any of the above, will you send them my way??!! 🙂
Just contact me here, and we’ll discuss your blog and get you headed in the right direction.
And don’t forget…if you want to DIY your way from Blogger to WordPress, I’ve written an 80+ page tutorial ebook with over 100 screenshots to walk you through the process.
And don’t worry…this isn’t the end of Addicted 2 Decorating. My posting has slowed in recent weeks, but that’s just because I’m very focused right now, and very determined to get into that house!! But when we’re finally there, I’ll have TONS of work ahead of me, and loads of projects to share. It’s a fixer upper…a dream home for me. 🙂 We just have to get there!
Addicted 2 Decorating is where I share my DIY and decorating journey as I remodel and decorate the 1948 fixer upper that my husband, Matt, and I bought in 2013. Matt has M.S. and is unable to do physical work, so I do the majority of the work on the house by myself. You can learn more about me here.
You did a great job helping me with my blog. I’m so happy with it.
I’m so glad you like it, Mary! And you even sent business my way! 🙂
Hahaha! I misread your title – I thought it said ‘Shameless plug . . .Because I want a HORSE’. I stayed up too late last night waiting for the results from your election to be announced so I’m a wee tired 😉
If I ever decide to get some professional WordPress help you’ll be at the top of my list
Oh, that’s funny! Well, if we get the house we’re hoping for, I’d probably have enough room for a horse! The lot is HUGE! 😀
I need your help sooo badly, but I didn’t contact you because I thought you were swamped. Email me!
The new blog design looks great Kristi! I recommend you to everyone-you have been a life-saver to me with my move to WordPress and refining my blog setup. Thank you Kristi!!
You are doing a great job. I wish you well in getting that house!
Hey Kristi, you are so awesome and your designs are spot on! I hope you get a house soon!!!!! I am so excited for your business that I pinned it (TWICE) on Pinterest. I really hope you get booked up and can get your dream home soon. xoxo
I always make sure to recommend you and I know lots of the other girls do too! Much luck, the blog looks wonderful 🙂
Exciting news about the house, Kristi- I hope it works out for you! I really want to talk to you about changing the theme on my blog, not sure how much will be involved. I’m planning on you being my birthday present- ha! I’ll get in touch with you after this weekend. ;D
Kristi- your post convinced me after only a few short months on Blogger that I may as well make the jump to WordPress. Why should wait til I had to transfer everything?
Good call. I will surely keep you on mind if (when!) I need help. I am not a very faithful blogger right now and need to get my commitment level up before I look for more.
I pray that you get the house you are so longing for and that you and Matt will be happy there!
All the best-
Sue

Very exciting news about the house possibility! I sure hope it works out for the two of you! I really enjoy your blog and love the layout. If I get to start a blog, I definitely want your help!
You just plug away! You deserve it AND the new house! I’ve been reading through your blog tips and you’ve been soooo helpful! I just bought your e-book on Blogger to WordPress migration. Hopefully, it will be a breeze to get through, but I know where to go if I need someone to do it for me! Good luck with the new house! I look forward to seeing you work your magic! {By the way, I realize after reading your prior blog tips, I need to resize my photos. Ugh!}

Sorry that it posted my comment 3 times! I was trying to comment from my phone, and it kept giving me an error message. Oops!
A shameless plug for Kristi!!
Kristi put the pretty in my blog and I get compliments all the time! She is sweet as peaches to work with and she “caught” my vision perfectly!
Thanks Kristi!! I’m loving the brightness of your blog. It’s very much more YOU!!! Oh I hope everything comes together for you to get your house!
This came out beautiful. I will spread the word. I would have def used you when I did my migration back a few months ago
Love the new look Kristi. I think I need it too. I have had a few readers tell me my blog font is too small for them. I have tried to change it on my own however, the size and layout still are not right. Email me when you can. [email protected]
Me too love the new look…easy to navigate and good for the eyesight. Even the old ones love to view this new look design page of yours.
I hope you get that house, Kristi.
Word of mouth advertising is best: a shameless plug for my “fairy blogmother”: http://www.momnivores-dilemma.com/2012/11/switching-from-blogger-to-wordpress-the-why-how.html
Thanks again for your hard work last month,
Nicolette
