I’m so excited about how my tiny bedroom is coming together. The textures and colors are so relaxing, even in its unfinished state.
Remember my two main inspirations? First there was this daybed from Pottery Barn. I wanted this same storage function in a queen size.

And then there’s the closets on either side of the bed in John & Sherry’s bedroom, of Young House Love.

So I’ve added those two elements, plus my own color, texture, and design details, and this is what I have so far…

Storage cubbies on Matt’s side of the bed. Of course, it still needs to be caulked, primed, and painted. |

My side of the bed…wall color, chair rail, and grasscloth next to my new closet. |

I can’t even begin to tell you how these colors and textures make me feel. So relaxing!! |

Matt’s side, with his new closet. Again, far from finished, but it’s a start! And the gap at the top (plus the notch I cut out of the grasscloth so I could have a swatch to carry around with me while shopping) will eventually be covered with crown molding. |

The (almost) whole shabang. And of course, my Jack In The Box cup, which always makes an appearance in my photos. I simply can’t work with out a large tea within reach!! |
I’m a little overwhelmed at the amount of caulking, priming, and painting I have to do. All of the trim (baseboards, chair rail, crown molding), the closets, and the new storage base of the bed will be painted the same color–a creamy white. That’s a LOT of painting!! So I guess I better get busy, huh?
Have a great weekend!

Addicted 2 Decorating is where I share my DIY and decorating journey as I remodel and decorate the 1948 fixer upper that my husband, Matt, and I bought in 2013. Matt has M.S. and is unable to do physical work, so I do the majority of the work on the house by myself. You can learn more about me here.

I can't wait to see the final result! Because I'm still drooling over your dining room and PLASTIC green chandelier (which I never would have thought I'd use all those words together in a sentence which included LOVE)! 😉

January 3, 2012 at 11:29 amHi Lorin~
I bought that wallpaper so long ago, and I have no idea what the name is or who the manufacturer is. I do know that I got it at Sherwin Williams, and I found it in one of their books that was exclusively grasscloth wallpaper. That might help you narrow it down!
