Have You Seen The 2010 HGTV Dream Home Yet? Take A Look!!

It’s the non-holiday annual event I look forward to every year. While most people are anxiously awaiting the Superbowl, I’m awaiting the unveiling and giving away of the HGTV Dream Home.

This year’s Dream Home is located in New Mexico, and I absolutely love the style of the home. For years, I’ve been fascinated with this type of Southwest-inspired architecture, as well as the minimal style of landscaping (called xeriscaping) that homeowners use in areas like New Mexico and Arizona. It’s so different from what I grew up seeing, and (to me) it’s incredibly beautiful in its own unique way.

Okay, let’s get started! Buckle up…it’s a long ride.

The 2010 HGTV Dream Home!

The Entry Hall

Sitting area off of the entry hall.
LOVE the fireplace and glass tile!!!
And of course, the COLOR!

The Great Room. Look at those windows!!

Dining Room

Butler’s Pantry
(which is bigger than my entire kitchen!)

Kitchen
Look at that wall of gorgeous turquoise tile!!

Gorgeous!!

Home Office
Now I could SERIOUSLY get some
work done in here!

Home Theater
I love that it doesn’t have a huge
wall-sized screen. It’s comfy–my
kind of home theater.

Master Suite
Again with those windows!
And I love the ceiling, too.

Master Suite.

Master Closet
This looks to be MUCH bigger than my bedroom!!

Kid’s Bedroom
Now THIS is how to add a “theme”
to a child’s bedroom–nothing over
the top, but inspired by Toy Story.

Guest Bedroom
I’m curious, what are your thoughts
on the two twin beds, instead of
one queen bed, for a guest room?

The Sunrise Room
What? You don’t have a sunrise room?

And last but not least…
The Casita
(which, I believe, literally means “little house”)
It’s separate from the rest of the house,
and intended for guests. Hmmm…I thought
that’s what a GUEST room was for!

So there you have it–the 2010 HGTV Dream Home. You can register to win this home (along with a new vehicle and $500,000) once a day, so don’t miss your chance!!

Sooooo…what do you think of the house? Is this something you could see yourself living in? Heck, I think I could live in the Casita and be perfectly happy!

  1. Two twin beds in a guest room is really funny. After this post I think I'll consider that myself someday. Imagine the look on your guest's face. 🙂 And bonus, it's much more versatile. Not all of everyone's guests are married.

  2. I agree about the versatility of the twin beds in the guest bedroom– especially for those of us who don't have Casitas!

  3. Know this is a late post but I always have twin beds in the guest room. If I have a couple coming over, we just put them together, put a king mattress pad on it and voila! it is a king bed. A twin set is so much easier to move than a king, of course and offers so much flexibility.

  5. WOW WOW WOW…..when can I move in. That kitchen is to die for. I would become one good baker in there.
