They’ll Finally Have A Good Home
Do you ever pick up furniture at garage sales or estate sales that you know you don’t need, and you don’t have a place for, but you just can’t pass up? Oh, come on now…admit it!! I certainly do. There are just some deals that are far too amazing to let pass by! For example, remember my pair of chairs that cost $8…for both chairs? Yes, that’s right. A total of eight dollars…for two chairs!
And then do you remember this pair of chairs that my mom got for me? She knew I loved chairs with caning, and when she had the chance to snag these for free, she jumped at the chance.
All of these amazing, too-good-to-pass-up chairs have been in storage for a year now. But finally…FINALLY…they’re going to have a good home, and I couldn’t be more thrilled.
First, they’ve got to get all cleaned up…new foam, new fabric. And then they’re going to live in John & Alice’s family room. I’d rather these incredible finds be in someone else’s home than be sitting in storage for years.
I think once they’re cleaned up and made over, these “new” chairs will go a long way in breathing new life into a room that was drowning in brown leather, with a leather sofa, a leather club chair, and two leather recliners.
Now I just have to find the perfect fabrics that are budget-friendly, durable, and will blend beautifully with the other fabrics and paint colors going into the room.
Let the search begin!
By the way, I noticed that Fabric.com is having a sale on their Waverly fabrics right now. Two of the fabrics that I picked out several months back for my bedroom just happen to be Waverly, so I’m definitely going to be taking advantage of their sale, plus their free shipping on orders over $35. If you’re looking for fabric for a project, you might take a look. Their indoor/outdoor Waverly fabric is under $10/yard!!
Addicted 2 Decorating is where I share my DIY and decorating journey as I remodel and decorate the 1948 fixer upper that my husband, Matt, and I bought in 2013. Matt has M.S. and is unable to do physical work, so I do the majority of the work on the house by myself. You can learn more about me here.
ohhhh, thanks for the tip about the fabric.com sale, I'm in need of some fabric! And I can't believe you scored those chairs for $8! Can't wait to see what you do with them!
That is the same fabric I used on my pantry make over. I just love it, great choice!
I can't wait to see the remodeled chairs!
I can't wait to see the remodeled chairs. I wish I had as much faith in my ability to "revive" old furniture as you do – I often see abandoned chairs in my neighborhood, and have considered loading them up into the car to take home, but haven't done it, yet.
BTW – Joann fabrics is having 50% off their selection of Waverly fabrics, too.
Ok I am in LURVE with those striped chairs. I NEVER find deals like that:o( Of course, I don't look that hard either. Can't wait to see this finished project!!!
