It’s probably pretty obvious that I love a repurposed closet. After all, I’m turning one of my closets into a utility “room”, and another closet into an “office”. I love to see how other people turn their inefficient, run-of-the-mill closets into something more useful, more purposeful, and obviously, much prettier.
Desiree fromThe 36th Avenue knocked this one out of the park, taking a plain, inefficiently organized entryway closet, and turning it into an amazingly organized, not to mention beautifully decorated, mud “room”.

Addicted 2 Decorating is where I share my DIY and decorating journey as I remodel and decorate the 1948 fixer upper that my husband, Matt, and I bought in 2013. Matt has M.S. and is unable to do physical work, so I do the majority of the work on the house by myself. You can learn more about me here.

October 21, 2011 at 8:52 pmI love this idea. For me, I would put some hooks in there for my kids's backpacks. Oh man, another "to do list" item.

October 21, 2011 at 10:46 pmIt is a beautiful photograph but then the clothes are handpicked to match the color scheme and there is almost nothing to speak of in the closet to organize. It looks like a stage closet in a model home. Maybe in a warm city where no one hangs up a coat and in a hallway with no place to sit or place a chair this might be a good idea.

October 21, 2011 at 11:02 pmIs there a rod in there to hang up a coat? Or just the hook over the door? It seems unusual to have throw pillows in the closet/mud room- maybe I'm just over thinking the whole simple space though!
